macOS problems with new update? [1.13.0] [May 19 2021] [SOLVED]

MacOS/MacBook Air user here. It worked once for me yesterday after doing the update but the app won’t load today. Same issue as everyone else here - I click on the ‘Let’s Go’ button from the opening screen and then it crashes. I’ll send my crash files to Zwift support as suggested.

Hi,

After installing the update on a Mac, Zwift no longer works:

Have tried rebooting and reinstalling to no avail…

Help!

Hi @David_Pollington, welcome to the forums.

This is a known issue, there is a pinned thread about it. The most recent update from Zwift HQ is, they are aware and don’t have a solution yet. Many Mac users are affected.

Thanks for flagging Mike, will try some of the suggestions and keep my fingers crossed!

Had the exact same thing happen this morning. Rebooted, checked to see if it was because I wasn’t up to date on OS update on my Mac. Even tried launching off my iPad and phone had the same issue there too.

Just got done with first third of work day, have a break and logged in on a completely different computer and had the same error message pop up.

Worried I won’t get my wko in this evening if this isn’t fixed soon :(. Definitely following to see what workaround Zwift comes up with!

Hi all,

A complete deinstall, clear trash, reinstall and then reboot of a MacBook Air did the trick… follow Zwift’s instructions to make sure you keep your workouts etc…

I’m having the same log in issues, but with Windows 10 on my HP laptop. Very frustrating! I sent my crash log to the email address listed on this thread, but I didn’t have a case number since I figured it’s just lumped in with the rest of this.

I’d love to get the service back up and running…

Yes, I tried that but it did not work on my mac

Have tried that a few times. No go.

Yes the same, unable to launch…

So I’ve done the full reset a few times, gotten rid of old files, etc. One thing I’ve noticed. In my Library->Application Support->Zwift when I reinstall, all my files are new as of the last install EXCEPT for one file named: LauncherMac_ver_cur.xml. This one dates back to 10/29/20. I only bring this up because you earlier mentioned an outdated launcher. Not sure if this helps.

No issues on Mac OS (Catalina 10.15.7). Any I have had have worked around by turning my wifi off for start, then turning it back on. My companion app (iOS) however is stuck on the blue load screen since about 30mins ago, restarted phone, it loads login screen and says my login details are incorrect (even though they’re not)

Just completed update on Mac OS10.12.6. Unable to start zwift, just wondering what is happening and why the issue is not yet resolved. Appears it has been happening for a few days?

Have had past problems w Zwift but the user tips here and on Reddit have always solved the clunky issues like reinstalling etc. This latest crash on a MacBook after the Lets Go screen (after a Zwift software update) is so far unsolvable. I’ve tried all the good tricks listed. Nothing works. App plain disappears after clicking Lets Go.

For what it’s worth… just tried again - first time, the launcher disappeared as before… second time, the launcher worked and Zwift loaded… so definitely flaky…

I just tried to open the app on my Macbook and it worked! :o I’m leaving it logged in until my meet up in an hour LOL

Fairly new user here. I only average one ride per week on zwift as I ride outside a lot and it’s frustrating for it to be ruined like this. Have spent the past 2 hours trying the advice in this thread with no luck. Now I will miss my workout today.

I am having same problem of crashing out when clicking on Lets Go. Using Mac with Sierra 10.12.6

same issues. I have macos, plenty of hd and ram, deleted all zwift files, app, folder, emptied trash, deleted all cookies and history from all browsers, restarted mac, downloaded app from zwift, installed, same issue.
