Gonna go with an iPad issue with new update as now on iPhone 11 and all synced up fine, just can’t see bugger all…
When you stop pedalling, Zwift applies the brakes doesn’t it? Not a lot; and not if you’re going downhill AFAIK, but enough to slow you. I think it’s one of the reasons it’s relatively hard to keep position in a pack and have to keep pedalling. If you coast as you would in real life, you’ll slow up and get spat.
I’m not so sure. If you take drafting out of it and stop pedaling on the flat, you seem to keep going for a roughly realistic amount of time.
Downloaded the update. Suffered from no ERG functionality during a workout. After several attempts to reconnect/disconnect/relaunch app/trainer still no joy. After 20 mins trying I did the workout but had to change gears to achieve the required power. Very disappointing. After the workout I relaunched Watopia, no terrain changed at all, only able to keep a constant power and change gears to change power. After another disconnect/reconnect I was then able to see resistance change with terrain. Riding TACX FLUX S connected to iPhone, all software up to date.
@Lin_Alan sorry, but long playing members know the “features” (bugs) of Zwift very well and they still like it. But it seems that the major problems are not recognized and only the “nice” problems are fixed…
I dont need new roads or kits or whatever… they should better fix the sticky draft issue or something else u will find in the problem list…
Sticky draft
i hate this thing… but its a long term problem they will never fix… u cannot earn money with fixing this…only with new bikes, kits or whatever
I avoid this by changing back to my ‘normal’ bike at the end of the TT events, BEFORE actually exiting the game. That way I’m all set up and ready to go the next time I start Zwift.
Yepp worked on my phone as well. But a bit frustrating since I have a small iPhone SE screen
If you are using a phone to connect to the Companion app, this is pretty standard behavior when the WiFi signal isn’t strong, so the phone is constantly switching back and forth between the WiFi network and cellular data. You might try turning off the cellular signal while using ZC and see if that helps. Also, if you have 2.4 and 5 networks in your house, be sure both Zwift and your ZC device are on the same network.
Same issue here. What is strange though is that my wife’s profile on the iPad works perfectly and connects to the bike and HR monitor, it is just my profile that does not connect. So I wonder if this is not just an iPad issue, but also specific to certain users on iPads too.
Hmmm. I’ve never noticed this. If I stop pedaling it just seems like my avatar coasts and, therefore, slows down a bit. I’ve never noted anything that seems like ‘braking’. There is, of course, the issue that Zwift only sends 50% of the downward slope to the trainer, so the avatar slows down in places that I would not expect it to IRL.
Same for me
As always, the lack of support for route information and progress in the Zwift UI is receiving the most attention in the comment section. Since I don’t think Zwift is trying to intentionally annoy and frustrate it’s customers, there must be a significant limitation on how Zwift delivers content (coding limitations?). Why not tell us this, Zwift? Tell us there needs to be a ground-up rebuild before the Zwift UI can provide riders with MUCH DESIRED in-game route information. And IF it is actually possible to deliver this content as Zwift is currently formatted, then CRACK ON AND PLEASE GET THIS DONE! Thank you.
It’s possible it has changed, but I’m not the only person who thinks it does this. Here’s an example from a couple of years ago:
And one from 2015:
I haven’t tested it recently; I just try to always be pedalling. =)
Update on PCs crashes at the end of every meetup. I had a local diy TTT with 8 squads running meetups the last 2 days. Everyone on a PC after the update has crashed. I’m on ATV. Screenshot from CA of me and 2 teammates did same meetup this morning. First 2 ATV finished fine. Third on list PC client crashed immediately at the end of meetup.
I tried all of my apple devices and none of them will connect
THANK YOU for all the work so far. Ignore the whiners. Ride on.
(oh and hire a UI person please.)
love you.
I had the same issue. My fix was to manual disconnect my AirPods from my iPad before I started a session. I had this happen while trying to get my PRL Half badge.
Interesting. I wonder if this might be a consequence of the specific trainer in use. I use a Tacx Neo 2, which has the ‘downhill drive’ to keep the flywheel spinning for some period of time even when pedaling has stopped (at least on descents), so I wonder if this might also have an impact on the ‘coasting’ functionality on flatter ground.
