Elite Suito power readings

Same here! Elite Support and warranty is the WORST in the whole world. Never buying one of their products again. My Smarttrainer got damaged really easy during normal use. And I had to pay a lot to get it repair, and I had to wait 3 MONTHS for the repair. Now my power is reading 25W lower. I’m trying to find the way to correct this without going back to their support.

Suito is very sensitive to heat. The warmer it gets the higher it reads the power. You can try to calibrate it right after a long training session to decrease that 25W gap.

Ja. I have tried that but I have no positive results on that

Same here… my suito is stealing me 25%~50% watts at high power.
What suprises me is that the wattage is definetly wrong but the speed is matches with the wrong wattage. That makes me thing that the speed is estimated not real.

If you ask me this is absolutely stupid of Elite: installing a speedometer in the trainer is something very simple and cheap and it would help them to calibrate the power accurately and in real time, at least when the inclination is the training variable. What I mean is: zwift (or whatever) sends me to the suito the slope or inclination, the guy on top of the bike is spinning my wheel at X km/h… with those two variables, and the weight of the cyclist I can know what is the estimated wattage, therefore the trainer could self-calibrate in the case the measured power doesn’t match with the estimated.

I’m very interested on knowing your thoughts about this.

About the Elite’s support service is claiming me a proof with an external powermeter… I’m not going to spend 500 euros to demonstrate them that their calibration is ■■■■.

Hello,
I’m having issues with my suito as well. As I suspected, it underestimates my power outputs by far more than the alledged 2,5%. I bought a pair off Favero Assioma Duos and my first tests indicate discrepancies that vary from 5 to 10% at higher outputs.
I’m also having more and more problems getting the trainer to apply the right resistance in sim mode on zwift. I frequently have to unplug/replug the trainer for it to work properly.
This is very disappointing and I intend to contact Elite to fix those irritating issues. I bought the trainer in march '20.

hello i ve too some mistake with my elite suito

I bought my Elite Suito in November 2021 and no matter how many times and how I do the calibration it always reads about 10% lower that my Favero Assioma. Just as a note, I have compared my Assiomas with a Lab top of the line Ergometer and the discrepancy was 3 watts in the average for a 4min VO2 max effort and 5 watts to 10 watts for 6 seconds sprints around 1000 watts. So pretty close.
However the Elite Suito is always about 10% lower in anything above 250 watts.

Any recommendations.

Power will always be slightly lower at the hub than the pedals due to drivetrain losses. Your Assiomas will be slightly inaccurate. Your Suito will probably be more inaccurate. Then add on those drivetrain losses for further discrepancy. I don’t think you’ll be too far out.

Use your Assiomas for the Power device on Zwift if you want to.

I have owned my Suito elite now for almost a year and a half, for a year and a half, I have struggled! I can’t get my FTP over 200W! WHAT! I can’t keep up properly in a D cat race, I’m working my backside off flat out to just keep up and I can’t figure it out!? I’m by no means a professional cyclist but iv competed in many cycling races and have been competitive in real life with watt outputs way above what I am getting on this trainer?? I need a fix! if you know of anything that could help.

I should have just bought a wahoo.

DC Rainmaker reviewed this trainer and he said it is pretty accurate: Elite Suito Smart Trainer In-Depth Review | DC Rainmaker

Contact Elite support and they can run through some tests with you.

Oh man was I relieved to see this forum. I have this problem too so subsequently I used my crank based Powermeter to race, but now I am struggling to connect it to Zwift.
I made this video comparing the Elite Suito vs Power2max on Zwift showing the power numbers.
It’s really bad. I am B racer that occasionally goes to A and C depending on the legs. If I use my Elite I am a rubbish B rider and Ave C. With my Power2max I can do well in B and race A.

I made a video of it to show the difference …check it out: 2 months ago

Knobby&Slicks on YouTube…i call it Powermeter vs Smart trainer on Zwift. Go to 1:15

I did not want to bash so I mentioned no names but it’s a Suito Elite vs Power2max crank based Powermeter. The Power2max was 1-4 watts off from Garmin pedals.
Sorry I could not add a link.

Hi, Cristoph.

Are you by any chance willing to share the script, since I am getting nowhere with Elite support.

Thank you.

Sure what do you have in mind. I am a little worried about how they would react to everything. How happy will they be with my video ect

Hi All

Just thought to post about my Suito (purchased Aug21) having the same under-power issues as well. I thought it was a bit odd in recent months that I was getting blasted doing FTP intervals in Zwift (~250Watts) and my FTP was seemingly not increasing doing the ramp tests, I had basically plateau’d around steps 325-350w.

I have a Power2Max NGEco on my bike so I decided to compare readings. Saw some discrepancies and contacted Elite. I basically told them that there was a 10-15% power difference above 200w.

They sent me a set of instructions and below is the data from the sets Elite Support asked me to do (Used DCRainMaker Analyzer). Looks like power is off around 20% above 300w. It was impossible to do the Level7 35km/hr and 55km/hr.

Pretty disappointed that we have this sort of issue floating around (I definitely don’t think shoving a broom for calibration is a satisfactory solution!). I’m assuming most people who don’t train or have a external powermeter to compare to wouldn’t notice these issues, thus the lack of complaints online.

Anyway, hoping Support to get back to me with a updated JSON file that will fix the issue. Doesn’t look promising for sprints though.

I’ve cancelled my Zwift membership 6 months ago as the power readings were off immensely. Last week I gave another shot. Happy that the readings are spot on with my PM for all of my rides since. Elite’s myEtraining app still sucks though…

How is that possible? Did you do anything different?

Did you get a JSON file and were you able to solve the problem?

Yes I did

Hi Tolga, what did you do to get it right? Can you share the JSON file? Thanks in advance.
