[China] No other riders in world [September 2023, January 2024]

I cannot see other riders in events, how to fix it?

Disappearing riders is usually a network problem between your device running Zwift, and the Zwift services hosted by Amazon Web Services in the US. The problem could be anywhere including your machine (eg, software firewall), your home network (eg, router), your ISP, regional Internet carriers, etc.

The network is particularly unstable these days. The network is automatically disconnected and no one can be seen. The upper left corner of the screen shows that the network is disconnected. It has affected my mood to participate in the competition. My friends around me also responded that there was such a problem. I hope you can fix this problem. Address: China

I can see the port 3025’s UDP sending and receiving in wireshark and it’s work. Could it be that zwift banned my account?

it will be more of a connection issue with your setup

There are more ports used by the game. You can find the other ports mentioned in this document:

More info about connection error messages, what they mean, what to do about it:

Occasionally rebooting the router helps as well.

I’m not sure where you are located but there was another report of connection problems in China recently.

Recently, I asked a few friends, and we all discovered that when entering the game, whether participating in an event or riding with a pace rider, we cannot see other players around us.

Location: China
Device: iPad Air(V16.6)

How should I solve this problem?

Have you fixed the problem now?

That sounds similar to this report. Not seeing riders is typically a network problem between you and the Zwift servers in the US.

Hi buddy, do you fix the issue now?

It could be something wrong with the DNS service and we are not able to get the correct IP for the zwift server. this is not only happening in China, I tried different proxy servers around the world, but only a few of them were able to get the correct IP 58.*. *. *.

i also this program

Hi Zwift, I live in China and use Zwift on an iPhone. I have had years of issue free use of the app. However, in the last week all other riders have disappeared from my Zwift world and many other’s in China have had the same problem. I was pushed an update recently. I would be grateful for any advice.

Seems to be many users from China having the same issues, wonder if they have started to block access

You are not alone. It may be related to network connectivity to the Zwift backend, and it seems like it’s affecting many people in China. Every person who experiences this should contact Zwift support so they can understand it is a widespread issue. One person reported that rebooting their router helped but I hesitate to suggest that as a complete solution. Something is definitely going on.

@Daren @Gerrie_Delport_ODZ these threads should probably be merged for better visibility

Same issue here in China. Years of no problem without vpn and since the last update I cannot get it to work. I can see the live segment leaderboards, events which are happening, number of people in world, etc but I cannot see any other riders.

Hello all,

I’ve flagged this up at HQ for further investigation. From what I can tell, this does not seem to be widespread and it looks like the problem may have already resolved for some folks in this thread.

If rebooting your router does not resolve the issue, please reach out to Support and we can troubleshoot further.

Thanks for raising it up, Rowdy. Still very much a live issue for nearly everyone I know in China. It all changed about 2 weeks ago. Previously, we could access on any platform without VPN. Now, even VPN is not stable. ZRL yesterday was a particular disaster. Rebooting router had zero effect. Many I know are canceling their accounts and switching to TR, etc.

I am happy to help troubleshoot on behalf of the China community. I am connected via chat groups to about 300 people having the issue. For what it’s worth, I am on Apple TV + KICKR.

Thanks.

@Rowdy
Thanks for flagging this topic, super annoying as mentioned also by @Kyle_Artz_INC .

I m living also in China, very frustrating situation. I hope you can solve this issue quickly, all my friends in China having same problems and looking to switch plattform.
I m uisng Ipad / Mac book with Magene T200 Trainer and a restart of router will not solve the issue here.

Thanks.
