Zwift on surface pro

Has anyone run zwift on surface pro with a snapdragon processor?

I often use an old i5 CPU Surface Pro 4, other times I use my old Xiaomi Mi A2 (great ANT+) mobile and rarely my zippy Poco F3 mobile.

Bad idea. Not supported on ARM CPUs, runs poorly in emulation.

Do you know anything about app updates and compatibility with new devices?

All I know is that Zwift have not shared any information about whether they will support Windows on ARM or when that might happen.

I have heard that Microsoft is testing enhancements to their emulator so that might result in an improved experience. I doubt it will be a great platform for Zwift but it might become usable.

Hi @Krzysztof_Kempinski welcome to Zwift forums.

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. We do not support PC’s that run on ARM chips. Please see this article for devices we do support.

Will zwift work with these processors in the future?

Yes and i encounter problems. The system screen shows a kind of flashlights in the route i am riding and eventually it crashes.

Hi i am using a surface pro 11th ed with Snapdragon(R) X 12-core X1E80100 @ 3.40 GHz 3.42 GHz and 32,0 GB. Running on widows 11 pro with the latest updates.

I encounter numerous problems with the app. When its running, after already a couple of minutes: i get continuous a kind of flash lights in buildings and surroudings of the road i am cycling. Eventually the app stops working. I need to use the task manager to kill the app. really annoying. Not possible to ride like this…

What could be the problem?

For now you need to find something else to run the game on if you want to use Zwift (assuming your Surface has an ARM CPU)

I would venture to guess the Snapdragon is not supported.

Why is it so hard for Zwift to commit to supporting windows computers with arm processors. You support Apple computers with arm based processors? Isn’t it time after many years to do it for windows computers as well? This question comes up over and over with no update info. It seems like an issue many of your customers are hoping to get solved. Personally i barely use Zwift anymore because of this.

I recently got a Surface Pro 12 with a Snapdragon processor, not realizing that Zwift doesn’t support that hardware. I am so disappointed. I specifically bought this tablet to replace my old Surface that’s been running Zwift for years.

Zwift will launch on my new Zurface and I can log in, but when I try to enter the “worlds,” the app crashes. The logs say it’s missing files it needs to load the worlds. Same behavior when run under emulation. I contacted Zwift support and they listed a bunch of troubleshooting steps, none of which worked. PLEASE Zwift, make a plan to support this hardware.

Same here. I loved my old i5 Surface laptop for the past 7 years, including 6 years running Zwift without issues. I only bought a new one because I couldn’t update it to Windows 11. I’m incredibly disappointed and most likely will return it as I’m in the 60 day return window.

If you want a laptop that gives you the best Zwift experience, get one with a dedicated GPU, not integrated graphics. A mid-range gaming laptop (or better) with an Nvidia GPU would be my recommendation.

I’m not looking for a gaming rig to run Zwift. I’m not setting the bar to high to just want it to run: right now it crashes before I can even get in. It’s not a performance problem, it’s a compatibility problem. Zwift does not support this entire line of GPUs which is ridiculous because they are becoming more and more common.

I think your desire is reasonable. Maybe someday they will do it. My suggestion is only about what to do now if you want to run the game as it is on hardware you can buy.
