Due to a serious injury, I have been unable to ride my Trainer for almost a year. Imagine my surprise when I loaded it onto my new Surface Pro (running Win11) and found that no matter what I do, after 10 minutes, my ride freezes. Why is this?
Or am I better off cancelling my subscription and buying a Rouvy subscription, as I am assured they do not have the same issues? Zwift is not cheap, so either fix it, please or at the very least warn people that your software will not work with more modern computers and software.
Zwift you are becoming an obstacle to my recovery rather than aiding it.
Which CPU is in the Surface Pro? If it’s Intel, you probably need to use a different video driver. If it’s ARM, that’s not supported by Zwift.
OK, how do I cancel my Zwift Subscription, please?
If I cannot use the system and Zwift is not committed to working with alternative processors, I can see no other option. What is worse is that, as I believed in the product, I did not cancel my membership when I could no longer use it. If you can give me some assurance that Zwift is working to make its product work with ARM Processors, I may attempt to find a cheap way of using Zwift until you get a fix.
They’ve never said if they are going to release a Windows ARM version of the game. They do publish a list of supported devices if you want to figure out another way to run it. I imagine the Windows ARM platform is going to become increasingly common as we approach Oct 2025 and Windows 10 reaches end of support, since a lot of hardware can’t run Windows 11 and people will be replacing older systems.
Not really an answer! I get the feeling Zwift does not care if we stay or go. Which not a smart position to adopt, the hardware market is changing, and Zwift need to adapt if you wish to keep customers.
Well I have no inside information about what Zwift is planning since I don’t work for them, but I suspect the apparent lack of initiative may be related to the fact that Windows on ARM remains at small share of the market. They may be able to acquire and retain more customers by focusing on other things, or perhaps they want to do it but there are some difficulties presented by their software stack such as reliance on third party libraries that aren’t available for ARM or would require significant changes to adopt newer versions. Without inside information we just don’t know the reasons or costs.
I notice no one from Zwift has bothered themselves to respond
To be fair, this is a community forum, not the support department. If you would like to reach someone at Zwift you need to email support@zwift.com
So you bought a pc with a niche processor that almost no one uses and did not check compatibility? Granted Zwift may not have forefront in your mind at the time of purchase, but Zwift lists their HW requirements like any other game. I do not think this is a Zwift issue.
I have no idea if one is available, but you might try a search for an Intel CPU emulator.

The emulator is built in, that’s how it’s trying to run the game now, but Zwift in emulation is really bad on Windows ARM, thus the freezing. I do expect that Intel emulation on Windows ARM will keep improving as it’s still being developed, so maybe someday it will be usable, but it probably won’t be “good”.
Bought the PC for working not playing just surprised it does not run the game
Thank you Paul that’s a sensible response. I know an android tablet will run it so that is probably what I shall do in the meantime.
