Zwift launcher stopped working since update (app is not launched - white blank window)

@Tracey_Schefter @Benjamin_Kaufman if you’re seeing a white screen when trying to load the Zwift launcher this may be an Internet Explorer issue. Try updating Internet Explorer and deleting the cache from there. Then try launching Zwift again.

i just signed up and blue tooth issues not connecting on ipad/iphone and laptop (none worked)

It worked fine during my trial ride.

I don’t want something that isn’t going to work reliably.

I’m tempted to return my brand new wahoo kickr as I don’t have time to fuss like this.

I am computer savvy. I also hate that ridiculous loud music that plays and there isn’t an easy/obvious way to turn it off.

Ok, so it’s not the white screen issue.

With Bluetooth you need to make sure that the trainer is not connected to any other device (including your phone) or app before opening Zwift.

For a laptop (I am guessing it’s a PC) you need to use the Zwift Companion App to bridge the Bluetooth signal to the PC, both the phone and the PC need to be on the same router.

For a PC or Mac I would suggest getting an ANT+ dongle and a USB extension for easier connectivity.

Hi Vincent,

I am up to date on MS Explorer. I tried to manually update (it happens automatically) and Windows said it is up to date:

version: 11.407.17134.0

Update Versions: 11.0.95 (KB4466536)

Product ID: 00150-20000-00003-AA459

I tried clearing the cache….

No difference.

However,

Since before day 1 of using zwift (almost 2 years) , my MS explorer has been locked down, because I use chrome for every day,

And the locked down IE for questionable websites.

I just enabled activeX, and javascript and now I get the login prompt and get to the “let’s go” point!

I have to wait until when I am done with work to take the laptop into the basement and try it with my trainer.

I reiterate, for the last two years of using Zwift, the above have not been enabled.

Regards,

Ben Kaufman

MAYBE FIXED… I can now login… No more white screen. I have to wait until tonight to try it with the trainer.

Major point was that my Internet Explorer has been locked down (for two years, not a recent change), and enabling javascript and activeX it worked… up through the point of getting log in and “Let’s Go!”

All they asked me to do was make sure my IE was up to date. (They’re using IE… wholly cow… so that gave me a clue of what else I could try). I don’t know if it needs both enabled. I will play with that… maybe they will respond to my discovery….

I just wanted to pass this along ASAP.

Thanks Todd and Benjamin; followed Todd’s steps I’m now back online. Suggest you send your IT consultancy bill to Zwift!
I’m a bit disappointed by the response from Zwift not even a “sorry for the inconvenience” or am I just showing my age? Its not as though this is a free service!
Thanks again guys.

I followed the instructions as you suggested and it now works. Thanks, I will copy and past it to an email to Zwift Tech support.

I had let them know, but the more the merrier…

Ben

Vincent, I would like to allow the use of scripting only by the zwift application. What https url(s), should be entered for trusted sites for Microsoft Internet Explorer?

Thanks.

Ben Kaufman

FYI, I have observed that ZwiftLauncher communicates with secure.zwift.com, us-or-rly101.zwift.com, and cdn.zwift.com

I followed these instructions, but am still encountering the same white screen when attempting to launch Zwift. Does anyone have another idea that might work? I should also mention that I’m getting a lot of script errors when attempting to launch Zwift…

Jeff, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling Zwift before attempting the successful solution above. Not saying that will work for you, but it might be worth a try. Just be prepared for a lengthy install. I think it took almost 30+ minutes to download executable, install, then update. (I’m running it on an older laptop.)

Thanks, Todd. I tried that, but it didn’t work. I’m going to try to install some windows updates and update Internet Explorer. Hopefully that will work.

Script errors is another matter… Are you Win 10 with latest updates?

No, I’m running Win 7. Zwift worked just fine until this update was deployed. I’m hoping I don’t have to reconfigure my whole computer just to get it to work…

Make sure you have the latest version of IE, I believe it’s 11 and that your not using a proxy or VPN.

What are the script errors you are getting?

I managed to get latest Zwift update installed however still having script login error. Reported to support just today 11/27/18. First experienced login scripting error this morning before Zwift update. Update did not solve the issue either. Windows 10 updated as of 11/27/18.
