Zwift Click connection issues with Van Rysel D100

I’ve done resets and many different devices. I’ve set up the power and resistance for the trainer, obviously. Done several spindowns. I’d be curious if there’s a way to downgrade the firmware to see if a previous version works. I’m pretty confident it’s a software issue and not hardware. I’ll continue to use it as a trainer in ERG mode and workouts in the meantime and hopefully Zwift and Van Rysel will sort things out in the meantime.

Update: Definitely a software issue between the trainer and Zwift. I just tried FulGaz and the Van Rysel trainer works like a charm and supports resistance on changing gradients.

I have a feeling that it’s because of Zwift cog update for d100. If you have normal cassette it still behaves like it expects from you to use virtual shifting. Timing of the update is just perfect for that hypothesis - they have fixed Zwift cog on d100 and broken d100 with normal cassettes.

I’m a little bit concerned on how fast they can fix this, Decathlon doesn’t produce and maintain D100 - it’s actually Magene, so we are writing support request to them, but then they are probably forwarding it to Magene in China, so it’s taking longer than it should.

Damn it’s frustrating, I got it for Christmas, was able to ride in freeride, then update came in few days ago and now I can only do structured workouts ehh

By the way, I have also found out that after 1.06 update calibration button in Zwift disappeared, I’m sure I was able to perform spindown with previous version of the software.

I’m so frustrated, not sure if my frustration should be directed to Zwift or to Decathlon :stuck_out_tongue:

You should prefer calibration in the trainer manufacturer’s app unless it does not work. This is true for every trainer.

I’VE MADE THIS THREAD AS IT TOOK ME AGES TO FIND THE ANSWER!

I recently bought a D100 turbo trainer from Decathlon and ordered the Zwift Cog and Click with it.
I found it pretty easy to set up, using the YouTube videos. But the Click just would not connect to my laptop. But I could see it in the Companion and my laptop was showing it as visible in the Bluetooth settings just not in the Zwift App.

After about 2 days of search what was the issue it was pretty simple, so please follow these steps (this then too me about 10 minutes and I used my iPhone!)

  1. Download the OneLapFit app and log in (you will need to create an account).
  2. Once logged in, click on “Me” down the bottom.
  3. Click on “My Other Devices”
  4. Click on “Smart Trainer”
  5. Connect to your D100
  6. Click on the D100 Smart trainer and at the top it should say that their is an update from 0.100 to 0.104 (might be 0.106 now)
  7. Once that has been updated, disconnect the smart trainer from the OneLapFit app and go back onto Zwift - The Clicker should now connect when put into pairing mode!

I hope this helps everyone!

Hello everyone, unfortunately, I am also a victim who bought the D100 along with Zwift. I’ve been cycling in the gym for a long time, and I noticed something even worse that most people probably don’t even notice. My D100 with Zwift and virtual shifting can’t get over 70 revolutions per minute, whereas my normal cadence is comfortably above 90 on flat terrain. Therefore, I would like to know how Zwift can even display the cadence with the D100, as it does not work with any other app. Or does the D100 actually not have a cadence sensor, and do I need an external one? Because I can’t ride like this. This is absolute ****.

Here’s my understanding of that issue: in the original firmware it didn’t offer a cadence connection at all, then in a later update it advertised cadence for pairing but sent no data. I don’t know if they will improve this in the future, but right now you will need a cadence sensor. This is mentioned here:

Thanks, luckily they are not so expensive. I find it absolutely strange that with Zwift, the cadence sensor (wherever it is supposed to be in the trainer) works, but it gets implausible values for me. I will probably buy an external cadence sensor to have a comparison.

When Zwift gets no cadence data, it makes up a number so your avatar’s legs are not stationary. That’s probably a good thing, though it can be confusing in a case like this where a trainer says it provides cadence but doesn’t.

Okay, thanks. That explains a lot. Perhaps it will also help other users of the D100.
