Nothing, these solutions doesnāt worksā¦
Although I have Zwift installed on my PC and the Wahoo app on my phone, I tried this solution and it didnāt work for me either. Iāve also made a factory spindown of the Kickr Core, but that didnāt help either.
I also tried using Zwift on my smartphone as well as my tablet and the problem remains.

Ok, thanks for trying that and reporting back.
Please try this next thing to troubleshoot from our friends at Wahoo:
Does this fix it for you?
Dear Shuji,
I have tried like your instruction, with the app of Wahoo, when you change the grade like the slope or the resistance it works and i can feel the difference. Then iāve turn it back at passive mode, close the app and try to open zwift again but still the problem, and when you start the free ride you can feel that the resistance keep low more a bit.
Hi Shuji, sorry I am not that familiar with the Wahoo app. How do I do a workout in that app? How do I change the grade and switch back to passive mode? Thatās not clear to me.
To clarify, I never used the Wahoo app before this issue so itās surprising to see resolutions are being attempted through this app
Either way, I tried this new method. Hitting Resistance increase within the Wahoo app did indeed modify the resistance while pedaling. I then went back to passive mode and force stopped the Wahoo app.
Unfortunately, no change in Zwift. Virtual shifting is not an option to turn on, and virtual shifting, while registering on my screen, makes no difference to resistance.
You have to record an activity with the central button from the bottom side.
Push start and then you can change the grade as slope and resistance, and then keep back to passove mode that in theory it is used to allow third-party apps to control the roller.
You should feel that with the wahoo app you feel that the resistance changes but then in zwift it doesnāt work. obviously try it anyway maybe it works for you
Have you tried to kill the Wahoo app or any other app that may access your trainer from your phone while zwifting? If you are using Android, then taping āforce stopā or just closing it from the app list should do the trick. It can mess up easily with Zwift.
I once was in a race or a workout and forgot to start my Wahoo Headwind fan. I opened the Wahoo app to start the fan remotely and boom - my trainer power fell to something like 100 watts flat no matter how hard I pushed the pedals. Closing the Wahoo app put things back to normal within a few seconds. Same thing happens to me when I start TrainerRoad app in the middle of the ride.
You can try and see if it helps.
I even uninstalled the apps that could interfere but the problem persists. Other users on this page who have the same problem have also already tried several ways to fix the problem, including the one you suggest.
Our problem came out overnight so there must have been some update that caused this situation.
It doesnāt seem mentioned, but this has to be tied to a specific new game release, right? Itās a bit odd the workarounds proposed instead of a version patch to fix.
I uninstalled the Wahoo app from my phone and launched Zwift on the PC, but the problem persists in my case too. I would just like to point out that the problem occurs in free mode and for events. In training mode, everything works perfectly, whether itās the ERG or the gear changes when the ERG is deactivated, which is really weird. If the problem were to do with the Wahoo app, it should also cause problems in training mode, i supposeā¦
in my case the problem persists even when I deactivate the ERG in training mode

Zwift
Hi,
I suddlenly experienced the issue of very low resistance when zwifting. Everything worked just fine during this winter until two weeks ago when I was doing a workout in ERG mode.
This was the exakt scenario. I finished the workout and decided that I wanted to continue freeriding for a while in the same world without exiting the activity, just continue riding directly after the workout. When I started to pedal after the workout the restistance was suddenly very low and I could easily spin out on the highest gear. I saved the activity and restarted zwift to see if the issue would disappear. Pairing with Ant+, no issue. Picked Watopia and Volcano route to freeride. Problem still there.
Closed down everything, did a hard reset to the trainer, unpaired all of the connections, connected to Wahoo app for a factory spindown (have the Kickr V4 so it needs calibration) with success. Started an activity in the Wahoo app. Everything felt completely normal. Unpaired the kickr from the phone etc. Started zwift - everything paired as normal. Felt normal when pedaling BUT at the exakt moment when I did choose a route to freeride (Watopia - Volcano) and pressed āStart Rideā the resistance in the trainer dropped massivley.
Got madly irritated. Tried MyWhoosh - no problems with the restistance. Tried other platforms - No problems. Disassembled the trainer, cleaned everything, checked everything. No issues. Tried connecting through phone, tablet, desktop computer. Still the same issue in zwiftā¦
Tried doing workouts in Zwift - worked like a charm. No problems. Started a freeride - resistance problems all over again. WTF!!!
Something is obviously off with the communication between the Kickr and Zwift and take note, only Zwift. So what to do. Just for the sake of troubleshooting I assigned my Assiomas as cadence sensor and voila. Everything worked just fine again. So it seems like the cadence function from the Wahoo can disturb the resistance feedback protocol in zwift.
Iāve recently started experiencing major power fluctuations of +/-100 watts during Zwift group rides. This happened on my last two ridesāone today and one last night.
For example, when I aim to hold a steady 250W, my power jumps between 200W and 300W, even though Iām maintaining a constant cadence and effort, especially on flat terrain. This makes it really difficult to stay centered in the group, whereas I normally have no issue riding smoothly with the RoboPacer.
This has never been a problem until last nightābefore that, my power typically fluctuated by no more than 25 watts. Interestingly, I donāt see this issue when using ERG mode in structured workouts.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what might be causing it or how to fix it?
Interesting series of tests, thanks for sharing. Your frustration is felt by many of us.
Iām going to try and see what happens if I disconnect cadence and report back.
