Unable to perform Spindown Calibration in Zwift

Does the Zwift calibration properly calibrate the Direto XR, when available?

I had a v1 Direto years ago and the Elite app “calibration” simply gave a number, which was hopefully close to the number on the sticker, on the underside of the Direto. IIRC you had to then adjust the belt tension, if the two numbers were out by more than approx 5 and then run the calibration again.

Hi Steve, My calibration on the app is 6077 and on the sticker it is 6378. The belt is as tight as it can go. I have ran the calibration numerous times and 6077 to 6079 is the result every time. My power output when running Zwift is way out as a result. Can’t even get the power tracker into the green

Also, as a previous Direto owner myself, your options may be limited at this point.

It sounds like your belt may have stretched or there could be a problem with the tensioner mechanism.

You could try just replacing the belt. A lot of people have had success by taking the belt to an automotive store and asking them to find a fit. Alternatively, Elite sells a replacement belt, pulley, and tensioner kit on their website.

If you go the replacement route, there are several videos on YouTube detailing the process. Elite will also direct you to one if you ask, and they also do so if you order the replacement kit.

Perhaps, though, it’s best to directly ask Elite what they suggest first?

Another thought, although you may already have been down this route. It used to be, perhaps still is, that the offset/calibration value was hand-written on the unit, which has caused much confusion over the years.

If you haven’t already done so, it might be worth taking a photograph of the offset value and magnifying it to see if part of the number has worn off, or is somewhat extravagantly stylised.

I’ve replaced the belt and still having the same issue. The spin down option is still not available on Zwift even though they were made aware of the issue in October 2024.
