New battery…even if not that old you may have a bad one.
Remove the battery from the module and put a thumb over each connecting tab. Hold for 15 seconds (at least). For some models across different brands, this completely drains the device and resets. Insert the battery and try connecting.
Thanks for the reply, I’ve tried these things but no success yet, I’m still able to connect through my phone via screenshare so there is no issue with the HRM. But once my laptop is involved it keeps saying no signal.
Your laptop and phone may be competing. Try a USB Bluetooth (TP-Link UB500) dongle (disable your onboard BT) or try using Ant+ via a dongle on the Laptop. BT can be finicky sometimes.
All my Polar HRMs (H6, H10, OH1) often seem to go No signal in Zwift after riding for a while, none of the obvious issues apply and they work fine with other apps (and the trainer connection over BLE stays up as well).
I am having the same issue. Brand new Polar H9, updated to latest firmware, connects to Zwift, briefly shows heart rate, and then goes to 0 for heart rate and reports, “No Signal”. Please help.
I had the same problem. I followed your steps and it fixed mine too! I did a recent H10 firmware update and it was working fine for weeks on Zwift, the Polar app on my phone and my Garmins, but it seems after the latest Zwift update/s is when this appeared.
I’ll just show polar customer support’s answer. Hopefully zwift will fix it
“The situation brought about by the H10 update is due to the sensor being updated to comply with the EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED). As a result, the veruty sense sensor sends a security request to the host device, and cannot pair with it until the host device has processed the request. In practice, for example, Zwift users, the computer has received a pairing request from the Verity sense, which has had to be accepted.
Not all devices and applications can handle the security request, so we are already investigating whether we can do something through the sensor that would make it easier to pair and keep it active.
Unfortunately, the sensor cannot be updated to previous versions.”
Bummer! Garmin’s solution to this issue was to allow you to enable “open mode” on the HRM so encryption is disabled for backward compatibility. I assume the legal constraints are the same for both companies, so Polar could do the same.
I had tis same issue with my laptop and tried the reccomenned suggestion also, with no luck. The solution im my case was to upgrade the WIFI/BT module, so that I am now running a newer version of BT. After added Polar H10 as BT device to PC, then is was recognized and works in Zwift. I am running an older laptop with Windows 10.
Thanks, now I know - no update for my H10! As @Paul_Southworth wrote - Garmin has the option to switch, perhaps you could try to ask Polar why they don’t go this way?
I just got a Polar H10 heart rate strap. It works fine with my bike computer using ANT+ and also can connect to my Garmin Forerunner with no problems.
Zwift however does not want to work with it. It stays at “Connecting” and if it does briefly connect it stays showing 0bpm. I have tried it with Windows connected to the H10 before using Zwift, and also with it not connected on Windows and trying to connect Zwift to it, neither works.
The H10 will not show in the companion app either on my phone but other applications on the phone can connect to it.
My previous Polar H9 worked flawlessly in connecting. Solutions welcome.
ANT+ doesn’t support encryption and I assume this is related to Polar’s firmware updates to comply with the EU RED regulations that require Bluetooth encryption, so when you use ANT+ you are circumventing those changes.
