I guess another observation⦠Iāve been sick for a long time now (lung issue) and havenāt been able to ride much at all for weeks. My training score has dropped substantially (as expected) but the status has never dropped into ādetrainingā, and I started in āfreshā so didnāt have too far to drop to get there.
Pretty sure Iām detraining at this point, havenāt spent this much time off the bike in over 4 years.
After a week or so of having to scroll past it, the Next Up feature is annoying. The banner takes up a ridiculous amount of prime screen space, especially on my phone. When I open the Companion App, Iām often hurrying, either going into game mode or looking for an event or a route. Please put those buttons at the top.
Anyway, your AI suggestions have been dead wrong: No, I donāt need to abuse my knees with a Stomp and Coast workout. ![]()
I briefly explored Next Up by clicking āTuneā (on the game home screen). It doesnāt ask about my goals.
Hint: Not everyone wants to be an A Cat Racing champ. Your marketing department might oughta look into that. Fwiw, I like the tours and social events. Sometimes I just want to ride. Sometimes I just want a safe place to ride while playing my guitarā¦
Yeah, seriously. Playing Scuttle Buttinā while hanging with a C or D group is a worthy goal. If you play a musical instrument, try playing it while zwifting. Itās more fun than you might imagine! And your fellow zwifters canāt hear you. ![]()

[Ahem] Tbc, workout recommendations are fine; Iām sure some folks like them. I might even use them sometime. But please donāt try to force feed them to me. Put them at the bottom or in a drop down menu.
Add me as another person who has no need for this. The ability to urn it off would be great. I only get a handful of hours a week to ride, so I just want to do that and a race here and there. Itās not beneficial for what Iām looking to do at all, which is spend time riding how I want to.
Unfortunately, like most AI integrations, this is being forced upon the user for no reason and no way for us to opt out other than stop using the product. I like Zwift a lot, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
We need new roads, new routes, a custom route builder, pain-free set-up, not AI junk like this, I have my own training plan. I am getting bored riding in the Zwift world, the same roads and routes over and over again. Ai junk and streaks wonāt keep me subscribed, new roads in the premium worlds (Watopia, Makuri or Scotland) however or maybe a graphical refresh of London, Innsbruck and France to make them visually as attractive as the premium worldsā¦.
(Edit: the addition of junk features like this but the neglect of basic features like a back and pause button in the workout player, the non existence of a custom route creator and no new roads were a reason I just cancelled my auto renewal. Iāll see next november what I will doā¦.)
This. Blows my mind that we are locked into their ābetaā features at only social media influencers seem to enable with positive response bias. Meanwhile, London, Innsbruck, etc. have been left for dead.
Paid accounts should NEVER include mandatory AI features. Period. This is the kind of thing you put into a free or cheaper account, next to the ads, and you try to rope people into signing up for the full-featured version.
Iāve always been surprised that we canāt customize the Companion App (like widgets that can be turned on or off, to display different things), but this one really takes the cake. Iāve switched my yearly subscription to a month-to-month, in the hopes that Zwift will solve this soon. Iām happy to give them time to recognize that this was a bad move and give us the option to turn it off.
that just gives them more money, unless you cancel at the end of your annual subscription
Yep, my subscription expires this month.
Absolutely hate this feature. Is it AI generated? I donāt use these recommended rides. I just do solo rides or if I do group rides it is in TdZ or similar challenge. I like to give RideOns immediately after opening the app and it used to be the second category down. The Next Up just gives me nonsense that I donāt need or use. I understand this is in Beta, but please get rid of it.
The only thing worse than this feature is the number of duplicate threads being created to complain about it.

Instead of coding this junk they should have fixed basic functionality, like being able to connect my trainer as resistance without having to connect it as power first (like Rouvy!), a back button for workouts, configurable hotkeys and controllers, preparinf a ride from the companion, seeing your achievements and other stats in the companion. Like you know stuff we actually need and want
Thatās how my Tacx Neo 2 connects, PC, Windows (now Win 11, but was the same with Win 10) - which trainer have you?
Connection starts with Tacx for resistance, next is powermeter for power, some seconds later powermeter for cadence, Polar H10 HRM comes last.
Elite nero and wahoo kickr v5
Means you have 2 trainers in your prefs.xml? Perhaps is this the reason? You could test it - edit the XML file, delete one trainer?
One more idea - how do you connect your powermeter? I have everything with Bluetooth, are you perhaps using ANT, too?
But these questions should come from support, they (should) know their software better ![]()
Edit - sorry, is off topicā¦
expected behaviour according to yourselfā¦ā¦
Did you see when I wrote it? Somewhere is another posting from me - it changed in summer 2025.
Edit - found it now
Totally agree. If youāre going to have some sort of training feature, it needs to at least reflect some basic things like āwhat is your objectiveā and āwhat is your scheduleā.
I actually believe llms and other AI tools can do a decent job of generating cycling training recommendations (at least compared to a notal noob) but it needs the right prompts/information. This is terrible and doesnāt deserve to be in beta.
What about all the new roads in NY and France? In NY they even added fantasy features like the escalators.
