Personalized Recommendations - Beta [November 2025]

Hey Zwifters,

We are rolling out a new personalized recommendation experience in beta. This feature is designed to make it easier to find activities picked daily just for you.

During this limited rollout, only a small group of Zwifters will get early access while we gather feedback and refine the experience. The feature is planned to roll out to everyone in early 2026.

If you see the feature in Zwift Companion but not in game, check that you’ve updated to game version 1.102. Here’s how. Android users will see the feature in Zwift Companion starting with release 3.76.2.

What’s New

We have added a new “Next Up” section providing recommended activities tailored to your fitness profile, training habits, and schedule. You might see:

  • Zwift Workouts
  • Routes
  • RoboPacers

If you have a third-party training connection or if you have pre-registered for a Zwift event, these will also show in the “Next Up” screen.

How Personalized Recommendations Work

Your personalized recommendations are updated daily using your historical indoor and outdoor data (when your Garmin, Hammerhead, or Wahoo account is connected for outdoor rides). We analyze your training habits, including frequency, intensity, and duration, along with your fitness profile details such as FTP, weight, Zwift level, age, training status, and recent activity patterns.

Using this information, we determine the optimal duration and intensity for today’s session and match you with the most relevant content, including workouts, routes, and Pace Partners.

You can fine-tune the type or duration of your recommended activity using the “Tune” button to better match your goals and available time. After selecting “Tune,” you will see the following categories:

  • Workout - Recommends a structured workout based on your recent ride history and allows you to adjust the duration
  • Route - Offers a personalized route recommendation and allows you to pick shorter or longer courses depending on how much time you have
  • Robopacer - Suggests a robopacer and ride time; once you start, an in-game countdown timer keeps you on track

As mentioned above, you may see an additional Planned category showing events you have registered for starting soon (within 30 minutes) or any 3rd-party workouts you have scheduled for the day.

Also in Zwift Companion

You’ll be able to see your “Next Up’ recommendation in the Zwift Companion app, so you can plan your next ride wherever you are. You will be able to Tune this recommendation from the game home screen, as described above.

We’d love to hear your feedback once it hits your Home Screen!

I’d like to try it, would that be possible?

It would be helpful to be able to tune the in-game workout from the Companion app, so that a user could, for example, adjust the plan and pick their workout for the day while sitting on the couch drinking some pre-ride coffee - which would save time once actually kitted up and ready to jump on and ride.

And I recognize this might be a pipe dream but being able to select a custom erg workout instead of just something imported would be really nice too.

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but I noted that my “Next Up” panel still showed my TrainerRoad workout upon completing the workout and returning to the home screen.

I would expect it to recognise that I’d just completed that item, and it’s no longer next up.

Thanks for the feedback Daren. Yea, we were aware of that issue and pushed out a change yesterday. The TrainerRoad workout should go away unless you have another one scheduled. Can you let us know if you’re still seeing this today.

I didn’t have one scheduled today, but I’ll check tomorrow/Thursday. :+1:t4:

It is better than before where all of the suggestions were routes I didn’t like. We should get a bonus if we choose one of the Next up for You list.

I would like to try it

I noted today that after doing my TrainerRoad workout, it was no longer Next Up upon returning to the home screen. :ride_on:

I just tried this new feature. Looks and feels cleaner than the previous recommendation. Personally I love the simplicity of it and like to use the recommended workouts.

However, I also don’t follow a strict plan at the moment. If I do, could I share my goal with the recommendation engine for it to consider the recommended training besides everything else?

At the moment it looks to prioritise “maintenance “ rather than growth.

I’d like to try it - what do I need to do?

I cant wait to try this feature.. Waiting it since summer..

Can I become part of the “small group”? please

When are we getting Personalized Recommendations? I would like to use the training eliminate of this for my training in January onwards instead of a third party app.

If it’s not available to test in December then I don’t want to waste time in January.

Hi,

is there a release update?

Or is there a way to get onboarded for testing?

Thanks

The original message from Shuji says it rolls out to everyone early 2026. I would assume that means we will all have it by March (my definition of early may not be Zwift’s).

I’m having this issue as well. I completed the '“Introductory Intervals” suggestion in Next Up. The next day it was still showing as Next Up. Can you help pls?

I didn’t realise you were looking for feedback - looks like I am one of the lucky few.

So far, I’ve largely ignored the recommendations because they didn’t look very interesting. I did decide to give the recommendation a go yesterday and didn’t particularly enjoy the workout it suggested - I felt it wasn’t very challenging (even with the difficulty ramped up to 110%).

I wonder if this is partly due to how I use Zwift vs outside rides. I like to use Zwift for short but hard structured training sessions, whilst longer more endurance focused rides I’ll do outside. But as I have my Wahoo linked to Zwift, outside rides are brought in. So I assume Zwift is seeing I sometimes do longer, lower intensity rides and effectively suggesting I’d like to do something similar on Zwift.

I wonder if there could be more tuning options - I’d like “harder” (and “easier”) rather than just longer/shorter. Another option might be to provide maybe three suggested workouts, each with little blurbs about why they have been chosen and how they might be beneficial to the individual, and the individual can then choose which option they fancy. At the moment, if you don’t like the singular workout choice (but the length is about right so neither longer/shorter are useful), then you’re back to square one choosing for yourself from the workout library.

Do not like you’re taking over the main community event banner. Especially for something that’s just a beta.

Would like the top banner to be a nice big “Tour de Zwift” panel, or whatever the big community event of the day/month is, since community is what its all about.

Please put it lower, or have an option to turn it off.
