Make Fitness Trends & Recommendations Optional

The fitness trends of the companion app need to be made optional. They are always wrong - ignorant of even Zwift runs let alone all the many activities of which Zwift will always be ignorant (e.g. heavy lifting)

its been requested many times, Zwift just ignore the requests because they know best

Totally agree. Zwift does not have complete information on my training and I have not shared my goals with them. They are in no place to coach me. Additionally, there are at least six other apps that are trying to tell me what to do and I really don’t need one more.

The “Up Next” recommendation you can opt out somewhere in some thread here.

I had a related request to hide or at least re-order the panels in the Companion App.

Link is in here:

So you cannot opt out - I emailed asking, and the bot said no, then I tried online through the link above and got “Currently, there is no direct in-app option to completely turn off personalized recommendations in Zwift. These recommendations, such as the “Next Up” tile, update daily based on your recent activity and profile. If you prefer not to see them, you can simply avoid interacting with those suggestions.”

I find the recommendations to be off base pretty much all the time, and the word salad it spouts about my status is ridiculous. Please let us turn it off. In the meantime, I’ve deleted companion app so I don’t have to look at it.

yes you can, see post above with link to the other thread, contact Alan

I contacted the support email (before and via that link also) and just get an AI generated response that tells me I can’t opt out, and give tips on all the things I should do to make it better. So perhaps there is an Alan somewhere reading this thread who could reach out, but unclear to me now how to get to a real person at Zwift support.

@AlanZ :backhand_index_pointing_up:

Hi Allison,

Confirming here too since I also responded to your support contact that this feature should now be disabled for you. :white_check_mark:

Please note: due to caching it may take a few minutes for the change to propagate from our end to your client, but should be visible after logging out and logging back in.

How come support is still telling customers it cant be done while you prove otherwise ?

Hi @Peter_Twigt,
Thank you for flagging this as it is something we are currently investigating. It seems some changes we made a few weeks ago to automate routing of these to me stopped working. We’re working to fix this now so that additional requests moving forward auto-route to me.

I sent an email to Zwift support using the link provided. That was several weeks ago. I still have “Next Up” displayed in the Companion App. Ironically, one of the reasons I dislike it is because of the harmful effects of using AI, which I mentioned in my email… and Zwift replied with an AI-generated message.

Please, turn this off for me. It takes up a lot of real estate, at the top of the screen, which I have to scroll past every time I use the app.

I’m in the other camp. I’d like Zwift to be aware of what I’ve ridden outdoors, at least in terms of volume and intensity, so its suggestions are more reasonable. They are, after all, just suggestions but on occasion I’m like, “Huh, didn’t think of that. Sounds like a plan.”
I don’t use garmin, wahoo or hammerhead. I ride with Ride With GPS on my phone outdoors and link to Strava. My beef is that there’s no way to get this data to Zwift, so, for instance, the day after a 400k brevet, Zwift tells me I’ve been goofing off too much and I need to get my ■■■■ moving. During spring/summer rando season, when most of my rides are lengthy and outdoors, zwift’s suggestions are absurd and inaccurate.

Why can’t we simply get a screen where we can say “On __ day, I rode __ with __ climbing in __ time”. From there, it’d be pretty easy to figure out intensity (Z has my age and weight and FTP). This should be far, far easier than linking to another tool to download. Just allow me to manually enter the data.

becuase people would abuse it for the free XP

I’ve made a similar suggestion to let people input any missing TSS. I think it’s a good idea and there’s no need to grant XP for manually added data.

U can create a garmin account for free, and upload ur fitfile. That way it will count for Zwift, if u have connected both. Thats what im doing, when I use my phone (using the App Cyclemeter).

Nobody said anything about XP. I’m simply looking to have Zwift made aware that I biked 250 miles yesterday and I’m not “Fresh”, so I don’t want to do 90 minutes of hard intervals.

I have ZERO desire to have yet another fitness account, nor do I want to generate a .fit file, run the risk of that .fit format being incompatible or corrupted, have to go fix that with a FIT fixing tool, upload it to another location, yadda. All I want is to enter the length, time, date, distance and let Zwift be aware that I’m not “Fresh” - that I have, in fact, biked this week and make recommendations accordingly. No XP, nothing fancy, just awareness and correct recommendations.

You dont have to mention it, outdoor rides give credit for XP, thats how it works.
