With all the “stuff” being added to the companion app (Fitness Trends, Next Up, Challenges, etc.) and the comments on all of them asking to hide them, I think it would be valuable to be able to choose what order to display each of these panels on the Companion App. There seems to be resistance to allowing users to hide these products, maybe we could just re-order them?
The two things I commonly use on the ZC home screen are “Events” and “Zwifting Now” - with Fitness Trends first and Next Up second, Zwifting Now is at the very bottom of my screen, then I have to scroll past the nearly half-screen Tour de Zwift panel in “Challenges” to get to “Events.”
I don’t really care if the “Next Up” and “Fitness Trends” panels are always on the Home screen, as long as I can re-arrange them so that “Events” and “Zwifting Now” are on the screen without scrolling down.
Don’t have a problem with it currently to be honest and I’m on a small screen Samsung S20FE 5G phone, its even less of a problem on the Samsung tablet.
The in game screen defiantly needs options for the top right HUD, I want to have the option to totally clear my main screen of all text and run graphics only. Not exactly hard to scroll down and its full of useful information, what you don’t really want to be doing is having to press buttons and swiping constantly when you are actually riding except pressing the end ride button.
I hate the “just scroll” cop-out, and the “Fitness Trends”, “Next Up” and “Challenges” are not useful information to me.
Design a screen that lets me have the info I need on the page at open. Being able to reorder or configure what’s displayed on the page isn’t that hard.
I think you will find that the “Fitness Trends” is vital information in shortform for most people with a structured plan. I have a 100km a week goal and a long running now 70 week streak, its a great summary and I love hitting the productive training zone and will probably even start using the “Next Up” at the end of the latest Zwift Tour.
The only thing that the Companion App needs is a proper “Settings” area to be able to customise the HUD top right of the Map screen and be able to configure that with some of your main PC screen information instead.
It might become vital information when Zwift actually starts tracking all activities (especially one’s that they support), both on and off Zwift, instead of just cycling. Until then, both “Fitness Trends”, “Next Up” and “Challenges” are just a waste of space.
It might be useful to “most people who have a structured workout plans” but not everyone does. So just give the option to shut it off. That’s all that’s being asked here.
and that’s great for people that want it but there are lots of people who are using another platform to manage their fitness and will never use this information from Zwift. We just want to be able to turn it off for us since it’s not relevant.
It’s a great feature for some/many but just a simple off switch for those that don’t want it and don’t want to have to scroll.
..with a structured plan that consists of only cycling on Zwift or with a Garmin.
Anyone that does something not captured it’s goofy. Even if it is good, I don’t want it on the front screen of the companion app. I want “Events” there, which is far more useful in how I use companion app.
I use Intervals.ICU for what I think you’re using the “Fitness Trends.” I do like the stacked bar graph, that was what I used as primary displays on my RunningAhead.com log back when I was running as my main sport.
I’m not sure I understand what you’re after. You mentioned this before.
Ok well the final thought evolved to when users press that button in the Companion App to remove all the HUD, i.e. all the text etc so you just leave the pure graphics…
Yo enable the Companion App to run in Landscape instead of Portrait and have all that information come up in the Map screen instead. The current map screen in largly wasted space and the current info top right in it is hardly “Vital” because probably only about 1 in 5 people even run the Zwift Companion App while riding, its visible in the rider info.
You can then simply hit the button that’s already there in the App and have it toggle to and from the main screen to something like your tablet running the App.
It’s quite useless for me and takes up half the screen almost - on a iPhone 17 Pro Max. This would be better off shoved to the bottom or hidden if I could do it.
I don’t need a prompt for this information - I know my plan for the year and per day. On that note the challenges are of no use to me because they disrupt my training for the year. If you saw my plans you’d probably be shocked, but you’d see why then other challenges are of no interest to me.
This should be something people can choose for themselves which would make a lot of users happier.
Yes, please — let us customize things. I agree it’s more work for the developers and support, but it’s to help the people paying the bills.
Personally, I have no idea what “Next Up” is useful for. To me it’s simply wasted space that’s smack dab in the middle of the screen on launch. Ditto “Challenges”. These might be useful in game, but in the companion?
