I have bought the Zwift bike and try to connect the controllers but it is not possible to make the selection.
The Wahoo kicker is connected without any problems. I’m using a MacBook Pro for my Zwift rides.
Who can I fix this ?

Hi @Robert_Engels, welcome to the forums. Are you not able to click the box on the right of the bluetooth symbol and green signal strength icons?
Your Kickr should also be selected for cadence, but that looks like you haven’t connected that either. I assume you are using bluetooth.
Hi Mike,
I’am not able to click on the box.
Before I had my racing bike with a power cadence sensor mounted on the Wahoo.
Yes iam using bluetooth.
Hi @Robert_Engels, Thanks for purchasing the Zwift Ride Smart Frame! This issue is certainly odd but there are a few things we can check:
Keep us posted!
Hello @Robert_Engels welcome to Zwift forums.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I see you have a Wahoo KICKR trainer - is it the version 6, or one of the older models? Please use the Wahoo app to make sure the version 6’s firmware is updates to support virtual shifting. Instructions on Wahoo’s support site is here.
Let’s also make certain your Ride controllers are on the latest firmware. You’ll do that with the Zwift Companion app. Here’s how.
Hello from Austria,
I can’t select the zwift ride like shown in the screenshot. It doesn’t work on the phone (android) or on the PC (w10). I can’t select the checkbox on the right side?!? strange?
Thank you for your support!
Hello, I still have the same problem…cannot select the checkbox…all the firmware is updated…hm?!? it doesn’t work on the pc or the android phone…
Hi Shuji,
I updated my Wahoo KICKR but the version is not 6.
I also updated the Zwift controllers:
Powered up my laptop and controllers but the same problem als with the Zwift companion app.
It looks like that my Wahoo Kickr is to old and not compatible with the Zwift controllers.
What can I do ?
Sell your old trainer and buy any trainer that supports virtual shifting. If you want to wait you can still do ERG mode workouts. Or return the Ride if you don’t want to replace the trainer.
This is the picture with the Zwift companion app:
It shows only one Zwift controller in the Zwift app.
I have a elite direto xr and at the time it is not compatible with the zwift ride frame…i hope that the firmware update will be released soon…

Hello @Mc_Kassl welcome to Zwift Forums.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. I looked through your server log history and see that you have an Elite Direto XT paired in the past.
Elite has not yet released a firmware update to existing Direto XR owners that supports Virtual Shifting. This firmware needs to be updated so it can “talk” to to the Zwift Ride controllers. This is why the Ride controllers are not pair-able.
Please keep tabs on Elite’s support site for an announcement of new firmware. If you do not wish to wait and return the Ride, please contact Zwift Support.
If your KICKR is v5 or older - Wahoo has determined that that these generations are not capable of supporting the firmware required for virtual shifting. See the Wahoo support site for more information.
As others have noted - you can update your trainer, or if you like, you can contact Zwift to return your Zwift Ride.
Thank.you for.the.information!
Hi Shuji,
Thank you for your answer . My Wahoo Kickr is too old. Updating my trianer will be my next investment. I’m happy with the Zwift bike.
