I have a Zwift Ride with the Wahoo Kickr Core. I’m using a Mac laptop and a google Pixel 8 Pro phone with the companion app. I have wasted so many hours trying to get this set-up to work and dealt with 4-5 different people from Zwift sending me the same links telling me to delete and re-install the app but nothing works!
I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app on my computer and the companion app on my phone.
I’ve unplugged and resent the devices.
I’ve made sure its not connect to another BT device.
I’ve even done a FACTORY RESET on my phone, and still no luck!
Everything works perfectly for my wife via her account and her phone, but for some reason it just won’t work with mine. And yes, i’ve made sure it not connecting to her phone when I’m trying to use it, I’ve tried when she’s at work several miles away.
Zwift customer service has been TERRIBLE throughout this experience and I deeply regret this entire purchase.
Using the phone should not be required at all for it to work, so what happens when you pair everything to the laptop and don’t use the phone? Which version of macOS are you using?
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. It’s because you have an ANT dongle plugged into your Mac.
For Virtual Shifting to work, the trainer must be paired over Bluetooth. Your dongle’s getting in the way of that.
Also make sure that you’ve updated the firmware on your KICKR Core. Here’s how.
Once these prereqs are out of the way - pair your devices in this sequence:
Power: look for the Bluetooth icon.
Resistance: This signal will appear after a delay of ~15 seconds after your Power signal is bonded. The lag is expected and normal over Bluetooth. Probably different than the instantaneous appearance you’re used to over ANT.
Cadence:
Controllers: Power on the the Left controller first and pair to it, followed by the Right.
Heart Rate Monitor: (if using)
Do that, and you should be squared away, please confirm?
Thank you for the added information. Looking further back in your server log history, the last time the Zwift Ride paired successfully on September 17, it was using firmware version 1.0.0.
Would you use Zwift Companion app to verify that the Ride controllers are now on version 1.2.0 using the link I posted above?
