Just had this issue for first time tonight.
I had a Zwift update this evening hoping that the gear problem would be rectified and guess what? Nothing!! How about giving your loyal Zwifters a refund as itās taking the shine off using your platform, especially after 2 weeks!
Iād not used the app for a a week, unfortunately the auto update when I used it on Saturday meant I wasted a few hours trying to work out what had gone wrong.
I had another email ā Our dev team has been working really hard on this and we got the confirmation this will get fixed on the next update of the Zwift app. Unfortunately, we donāt have a confirmed date for this to happen.ā
I was given the option to pause membership for 1-8 weeks. I can probably live with it for a week or two and will then suspend it until thereās a fix.
I chased Zwift yesterday. They have a fix for the problem but canāt confirm when the next update will be released. Not very helpful but not sure there is much we can do.

Itās definitely May. Weāre just working through the release details (thereās a lot more stuff in it than just a fix to Wattbike gearing) and will confirm once we have a more solid date.
As a Wattbike user for the past 3 years who does not have a gear display (I use Ant+, not Bluetooth) I am a little perplexed at those saying they are unable to use Zwift properly without the gear display.
Have the same issue with Wattbike and no gears in Zwift on multiple Macs, iPads and iPhones. Whilst it doesnāt impact on changing gear, for me at least it means I am not aware of the gear I am using, and impacts on quality of ride and my perceived effort. For example, I find it harder to climb if you donāt know how many gears you have left to use. I am sure those used to using ANT+ only ride more on āfeelā but for those of us used to seeing the gear and using this to help gauge effort the lack of gears makes a big difference.
I am using my Wattbike Atom connected to Zwift via my iPad and iphone. In both instances the gear I am in is not displaying anymore since the last update. Nothing I try gets it back. Is there an issue with the latest update and can this be rectified asap???

I also now have this problem and I only received the update yesterday. Judging by the fact that Zwift updates are rolled out over time this mean I could now go a very long time with the bug which I consider major. Is there some way you could roll out the fix to those impacted first? For people used to riding with this feature this is a major bug.
Iām afraid that this isnāt something that we would be able to expedite.
So you release a change that has clearly not been tested properly and upset hundreds of your fee paying customers and then canāt get it fixed quickly. I would suggest this is a recipe for loosing the above mentioned fee paying customers. This is very poor customer service. It needs sorting ASAP.
Poor testing of releases and slow fixes for non-critical bugs are the norm. Itās reasonable to expect better, but thatās the way it is. If itās a deal-breaker for you, the competitors offer free trials. I havenāt found any of them compelling. Iām not surprised that this bug isnāt a top priority since the game is still usable and most smart bike users donāt get a gear display. I wish I did.

Good news everyone - we found the issue and are working on a fix. Iāll update when we have an ETA.
We have known that for over week. When is the next update due. This is really really poor customer service when we pay for this to work. You need to invest in some better testing processes prior to code releases.
Have Zwift stopped testing their releases before deploying them?
