Thank you. So if I change the language to French, I can use the old UI in french, but if I change it back to English, will I be put back in the new UI ?
(chuckle) I’m not sure that wanting the old UI back constitutes a ‘feature’.
(maybe more of an ‘un-feature’ )
I don’t know… haven’t their been eg. MS Windows options to switch to ‘classic’ mode or something like that? Ie. so it would be feature addition to enable the user to decide their interface on the home screen.
OK, I’ll give it a try - probably get ‘crickets’
Change it to another language(French should work), log out of the game, then set it back to English
Cool !!
I’ll give that a try tomorrow.
Thank you.
BTW - I posted a somewhat ‘immature’ request regarding this in the ‘Feature Requests’ section.
Not that I am against ‘progress’, or a scholar of Dickens’ …
… but for those of us who have a hard time ‘holding down their lunch’ when they have the new, improved UI (with it’s missing and off-screen features) ‘forced’ upon them, may I respectfully request that the GLG’s (God-Like-Geeks) at Zwift provide us disenchanted mortals with an option to switch back to the ‘Old’ UI .
-
(you remember, the one that was compact, efficient, had the ‘RIde With’ feature, and that actually fit on a screen properly)
Thank you.
Yes!!
That’s 1 for Integrated Graphics!!
Please Sir, May I Have My ‘Old’ UI Back?

Well, I posted in ‘Feature Request’ and some user by the handle of ’ Gerrie_Delport_ODZ ’ appears to have LOCKED my post for Automatic Deletion in 7 days. He didn’t give any reason or comment.
I’m not sure what that means, or why he did that, but it does seem a bit ‘heavy handed’.
Hopefully, that’s not the way that Zwift is going re: user criticism.
I think I will be leaving Zwift and moving back to RGT - their physics are realistic and their UI is great
@Gerrie_Delport_ODZ Is a Watopia Wayfinder(a forum manager hired by Zwift). He likely removed your post because this is where feedback should be given. Gerrie probably has a better explanation as to why he removed your post.
@Gerrie_Delport_ODZ
At least I don’t think the new home screen with limited functionality is ready for design feedback.
But isn’t this topic about home screen design?
@Michelle_Ascher Actually, looks like he just moved the post into this thread (post 189 I think it is). Nothing sinister, as Oiver pointed out, Gerrie is just keeping the feedback to this thread as the OP asked. As you earlier pointed out to Wannie, its not a feature request, you (and others) simply dont like the change and want to go back. Unlikely to happen but you aren’t the first not to like the change and its good for all voices to be heard.
You can still use French language with old UI
This is always what was going to happen … sections of the user base complaining on the forums that the old UI is tired, outdated and in need of a complete revamp (compounded by the fact that we thought it was coming soon when the pandemic hit and was then delayed) followed by sections of the user base complaining on the forums when it is changed because they don’t like it and want the old one back.
Classic “can’t please everyone” moment.
For what it is worth, I liked the old one (I even got used to the software having to close at the end of a ride) and I like the new one. It feels more useful and allows access to the things I want to be able to access before starting a ride.
I also like the new way the routes etc. are formatted and how things are displayed on screen, although the fact that it can be scrolled (and how) should absolutely be made clearer to those using non-touchscreen devices.
Disclaimer, I have never use the “Ride with” option, so not an issue for me, but can definitely understand why losing that is a big issue that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
Also, as someone commented above, a quick tutorial for new users of the interface would not go amiss.
I moved your post to this thread where it will get the most attention. Having multiple threads on the same topic is not helpful and it also don’t get the attention it deserves.
you could argue that some posts get lost in among the many many posts on here too
Is there anyway with the new UI to default to a route? I always start on a particular route to warmup before an event and under the old UI I just picked the world and away I went. Now I have to scroll down, find the route I like, then start… and given the large number of routes it isn’t easy! So, two things currently missing that are important in my household and zwifting friends - a default route and ride with a friend.
PS - I hope the new Garage will allow archiving or selling of gear - again, so much in there it is a pain to find the stuff I use regularly.
I’m sure someone has mentioned this before but the map preview for courses is too zoomed in so you can’t see where the route goes.
It would be a feature request though to ask for an option to choose which home screen you want, wouldn’t it? On that specific note, when a specific comment or ask is in a thread such as this one, nobody can vote on any particular one, as that functionality doesn’t exist.
At some point, bug reports or feature requests, should make their way out of the specific threads that announce the new software updates that led to the report or request.
