I’ve completed ADZ 25 times, but the MASOCHIST badge hasn’t been given
You’ll have to reach out to support to get that resolved.
Were any of the ascents back to back? I ask because if you turn at the bottom before the UI changes from the “climb” one back to normal, the second ascent doesn’t necessarily (or didn’t at least) get counted separately. I’ve had that happen to me in the past (and I didn’t get a prize wheel at the top, as well as it not counting).
Admittedly, that was 7 years ago, so maybe it counts from the KOM marker these days.
Easy way to verify would be to go to the Routes menu in the Companion app, pick a route that includes the segment, tap on the segment, and count the number of completions there. If its 25 or more then the badge should have been granted, and I expect support would give it.
Thank you Daren. I only did one climb per episode and it’s recorded on Strava 25 times. My friend also met the requirements, but she didn’t get the badge. I think there’s something wrong. Have a nice day. ![]()

The Strava evidence could be enough to grant you the badge if you contact support. If you see 25+ in Companion that would make it even more clear.
That does work correctly, you just have to make sure you U-turn AFTER crossing the start line of the Alpe du Zwift climb on the descent. Wait a bit until you get on the flat section, but not so much that you end up at the jungle otherwise it is a pain to U-turn and get back.
You’ll know if you’ve done it correctly because the ADZ lap timer will have started again when you cross the start line. Also gives you a bit of time to get rolling before you start the first sector.
I do this all the time.
Also Zwift companion app will show evidence of the laps you have done:
Choose: More > Routes > Watopia > Accelerate to Elevate > select Alpe du Zwift segment:
That should be proof enough you’ve done ADZ enough times for Zwift support to grant you the badge. Otherwise Strava as the fallback.
If the companion app isn’t showing your laps then something has gone wrong. My normal way is to do the Temple Trek route and do two manual right turns to reach Alpe du Zwift, this is the shortest way to reach the climb.
I’ve attached Strava records to Zwift’s support team and have been given a badge. Thank you for your kind and detailed help. God bless you always

Well done on the effort! Now you have 25, onwards to the next 25! ![]()
Yeah, I think that’s what I was saying also. It has to be after the line, but also far enough the the UI flips back to standard. Not all the way to the level gate, but a little way.
As long as you are past the line it is fine.
If you u-turn too soon right after the line you end up zooming straight into the start of the next lap and the timer starts. Not ideal if you are off the bike for the descent.
If you don’t really care about the lap time then it’s not a worry.
OK, well that has improved since 2018.
I turned after the line but still didn’t get a reset UI/wheel/climb credit. Good to know.
