Does Zwift look at your Strava Alpe du Zwift segment data to award you the masochist badge? I have not been uploading my recent Alpe du Zwift rides to Strava. Will that impact my ability to get the masochist badge?
This post is related to the badge for climbing Alpe du Zwift 25 times. The Zwift forum apparently censors the word used for this badge name.

No. Zwift badges are based and awarded off the data Zwift has.
Strava can be helpful to show you how many times you’ve climbed AdZ.

…And unfortunately there is no tracking of those climbs visible within the game to a user who relies on Zwift alone.
I don’t use Strava and kept tabs of my AdZ in a spreadsheet and was relieved to receive the badge-that-must-not-be-named a few weeks ago on my 25th passage through the arch at the summit. At least Zwift’s internal tally is accurate.

For some of us, it’s not. There used to be a bug where it didn’t reset correctly after passing the start line when descending the mountain. So if you did a U-turn to go back up again, it didn’t register unless you’d gone almost all the way to the gate.
I’ve lost at least two ascents to that, but it’s fixed now.

And if you did a U-turn when it was just launched it would not count.
Sorry, just to ask about this badge, do I get the badge if I climb it on different days/occasions?
I just had to do the Volcano 5km circuit 5 and 10 times in a row ( so now done it 15 times) to get that badge and so looks like i will need to do it 20+ times to get the 25 laps of it so will it be the same for ADZ?
You get a badge for 5 accents of the Alpe then again for 25.
There’s also one for doing it in under an hour.
Remember to set your challenge to Everest if you’re aiming for these badges otherwise it’s wasted effort.

I think the only difference selecting the Everest challenge would make would be progress toward the Emonda and Tron bikes. The climb completed X-times badges would be awarded no matter which challenge is selected.
Yep fully aware of that but imagine doing the Alpe 25 times with it set for the Tour of Italy.
True. I guess it all depends on where you are in the process. I got the Tron bike years ago, but still don’t have the Masochist badge (25x Alpe), even though Strava says I have climbed it more than 25 times. 
Good piece of advice on setting your challenge to Everest! Everest is a great accomplishment!
