I have the same ANT+ dongle and found if I use that to connect to the Zumo in Fe-C mode it doesnt work. Now I have it connecting via BLE under Zumo code 6xx and variable speeds etc work ok.
Just having trouble with the wattage fluctuations on screen (even with 3s delay on) as it varies so much - is that Zwift , Zumo or my own pedal strokes ?!?!
@Per_Ivar_Trovatn Could you post the link to the Elite ANT dongle you bought please?
Not sure exactly how it works by my understanding its the rules or map of how the trainer adjust resistance / power. My zumo power reading at high resistances is way out. It maybe that this map is wrong in mine so I was wanting to compare it with others. You can output this from the Elite app under advanced configurations and click “read map from Trainer”.
Just got a reply from Elite saying the power map is corrupted. They are going to send me the original one from when they calibrated it in the factory. Apparently they are unique to each unit.
Hopefully this fixes it. Will report back with a resolution hopefully.
I am experiencing similar issues with my Zumo home trainer connected using Bluetooth (I have no way of connecting it using ANT+). I am getting too low speed and too high resistance when using Zwift, and I therefore suspect that the power map settings of my home trainer may also be incorrect.
However, I am unable to re-calibrate my trainer in the My E-Training app. I have tried to run the Spindown calibration multiple times, but it fails every time I try.
I have also contacted Elite’s customer service about this and I hope that they will come back to me with a fix to this issue soon.
Have you tried connecting the spin down test on your phone or laptop? I find i cannot connect on the laptop at all so use my iphone. If it doesn’t connect I restart the trainer and it works ok.
I have only tried to run the Spindown calibration test in the My E-Training app on my phone connected using Bluetooth, but it fails every time I try. I have no way of connecting my Zumo home trainer to my computer using either ANT+ or Bluetooth.
I am still waiting for Elite’s customer service to come back to me with a fix to this issue.
Hit an issue with my Zumo today, had no issues previously with it… Gone to do a ride on New York today and the resistance was incredibly high and if I managed to get the pedals moving I could smell a burning smell from it… it is as If the brakes have been put on…
@Ben_Niven is this the sort of issue you was having?
The only thing I did different today was open the upgradio app before I opened zwift to see if there was an update or not…
Pretty much. but its fixed now with the re-upload of the power map.
From doing more reading, it looks like the unit was reading my power as very low when it wasn’t, so the unit would increase resistance trying to get the power reading up this would not increase the power reading enough so the unit would apply even more resistance until we quickly hit maximum.
Output the map using the app and send this to Elite.
That’s slightly concerning then if they come back and say it is ok…
Only thing I could think may have happened is if I’ve nudged something inside it when I moved it when trying to get past it in the garage earlier that day…
Will report back once Elite come back to me… dont really feel like opening it up just yet…
