If you like the Plays but want to get rid of the error-prone steering/braking/vshifting this is a great opportunity: Get a second pair, open them, take out the steering/braking/vshifting mechanics (not really difficult if you know how to handle the insides of a computer etc) and you have a hassle-free pair of Plays. Works like charm.
Having the plays connected but left off to the side of the bike gives you access to the better version of auto steering, which means you don’t need to steer actively.
Gang - confirming that this email is legit. We want to reward our dedicated Zwift community with an offer to discover the benefits of Play controllers.
Perhaps a tad buried in the brief email blurb is a reminder that in-game navigation control is the most universal benefit of Play controllers. Navigating around the game menus, returning Ride Ons, changing camera views and such is so much more convenient than needing a keyboard and mouse nearby, or an Apple TV remote if you’re an ATV user.
These benefit every Zwifter, not just those interested in virtual shifting or the more gamified aspects of Zwift. If you haven’t experienced this for yourself and you received this email offer - this is your chance to give them a try for free.
4 posts were split to a new topic: Play controllers don’t return Ride Ons
I’m probably going to hit level 85 tomorrow or Sunday. Will I get this email or have I just missed it?
Hi @Alex_Eames
This offer will be in place for a while - when you hit Level 85, you’ll get this email too.
UPDATE: there’s a technical issue at the moment affecting automated email sends. Until that is solved, we’ll manually send emails in batches to those who achieve Level 85.
£7.50 that’s a bargain
Even though I’m on level 92
Anything for dedicated Australian users?
Sorry! This offer is available in markets where Zwift Shop sells, which means UK, EU, US.
I’m Lvl 98, nearly 99. I give lotsa Ride-Ons, do James’ early (for me) morning ride once in a while, post useful information on the forum, give good advice during group rides, etc. When am I gonna get that email?
did you check your zwift email preferences/opt-outs?
“These benefit every Zwifter*, not just those interested in virtual shifting or the more gamified aspects of Zwift.”
*some exclusions apply
Yup. I get plenty of Zwift email: What’s coming up this week. Tour de Whatever. Etc.
Haha. We have sourced 2 sets at home, so it’s no issue but I wouldn’t complain about more & could run a fan competition, like I have seen a few other athletes doing
I have not got mine either. I am LVL99 also.
8 years, LVL 84 and change but no e-mail.
Just saw Shuji’s reply to Alex.
85 here I come!!
84.75 today after FRR. Nearly there. Another 50 km or so to go
You are totally right. But unfortunately the Plays are not waterproof, and the way they are designed it’s really hard to prevent sweat to get into the lower part, and sooner or later this will cause short circuits/malfunctions. There are many reports here on the forum about problems with the Plays and it’s pretty obvious what’s going on there - just open a unit and take a look inside.
There is a good reason why the Plays have a little drainage gap at the bottom - but your sweat has to pass the steering/braking/vshifting circuit board first to get there.
I just hit Level 85 in the past two days or so after completed the route chasers challenge. Will I get the email?
