That is it. Display the gear selection on the HUD for all smart bikes, not just the Wattbike Atom.
Do all smart bikes broadcast gear selection information?
I believe so, but am not positive.
Hi, only just got a Wattbike Atom using an android tablet. Just wondering will the gear changes only show on an IOS device?
YES PLEASE!
Bump this feature request.
I have the Wahoo Kickr bike which has the gearing display under the top tube. If the bike knows which gear its in, it shouldn’t be that hard to feed that over bluetooth to the Zwift HUD next to the speed reading.
I usually have a sweat towel over the handle bars and cannot see the display so I have to constantly move it to know what gear I’m in.
Any update to this"?
I just got a Wahoo Kickr Bike and usually put a towel over the handlebar area to stop sweating on it too much which hides the gearing.
I saw a different thread suggesting the Atom bike does show the gearing on display.
Would love to see this feature for Kickr Bike too…
No activity yet … Zwift come on Why is the cheapest smart bike still the only one that displays the gear in Zwift … I looking to get a kickr bike so I don’t have to use my retired commuter bike which is just NOT setup for putting down what I can on my Trek checkpoint … not about to sweat and destroy my SL6 on my trainer so SMART BIKE is coming in… probably going with the Wahoo as honestly I think they did a better job and hey I like the idea of a tilt vs the tacx bike … each one has its perks but where it counts KickR wins … if the GEAR displayed in Zwift it’d be a no brainer
Now back to this thread GEAR DISPLAY … PLEASE lets get this showing up in Zwift
Another vote for this.
I have a KICKR bike. The gearing is displayed in RGT using the same connection, so it’s being sent from the bike.
It would be useful to see it in the companion app as well.
Bump for having this on all platforms too please - Android, iOS and Windows
No gear display for my Wattbike Atom on Android makes me sad, especially knowing it’s there for iOS and Windows.
I have a Wahoo Kickr Bike - gears are shows in Fulgaz and RGT - I miss it A LOT in Zwift!
SB20 User here - gears would be good here too on Zwift
Why has Zwift still not implemented the Gear Display HUD for the Kickr Bike? Why only the Wattbike Atom? Baffling @James_Zwift ?
Please @xflintx will Zwift implement gears for all smart bikes.
I know there’s a long running court battle with wahoo but this beef shouldn’t harm paying Zwift customers experience
Let’s kick this one up again.
All smart bikes should show the gears in the HUD.
yeah come on, please just do it for all smart bikes
Even a small indie developer of indieVelo (which I had no heard of before) has enabled the gearing support of the SB20
IndieVelo may currently be small, but the developer is no fool.
" George Gilbert is the founder of indieVelo and continues to design, develop and publish the platform. As a former elite athlete, with 25 years experience as a software engineer, manager and program director in the computer industry, physical esports are his natural home. He has been the chairman of the Zwift Cycling Esports Commission, the President of the Commissaires Panel at multiple UCI Cycling Esports World Championships, a major event organiser running one of the test events ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games, and a former Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at British Cycling."
Wahoo bike transmits its gears in pretty open bluetooth - it would be a couple of hours work at ZHQ.
SB20 User here - gears would be nice to have on screen
@xflintx Now that zwift and wahoo have made up and claim a renewed approach to collaboration, can zwift spend a tiny bit of resource to get Kickr Bike gears to display, pretty please.
Zwift and Wahoo Fitness today confirm the amicable settlement of all pending litigation. The agreement will see both parties embark on a renewed approach to collaboration, with a view to growing the indoor fitness category and delivering continual, ongoing improvements to customers – through increased innovation, ease of use and better value.
Wahoo has granted Zwift a limited license to use its patents. Zwift will continue to sell its Zwift Hub smart trainer in existing ecommerce markets – US, UK and Europe.
In addition to selling Zwift Hub, Zwift will return to selling a selection of Wahoo smart trainers, bikes and accessories on Zwift.com from mid-September. The assorted range will offer customers a simple selection across a range of price points, all sold with one year of Zwift.
Wahoo Fitness will also offer customers the option to bundle one year of Zwift with the purchase of a smart trainer or bike via Wahoofitness.com.
Both parties look forward to sharing further details in the coming months.
