Game Update 1.59 [February 2024]

Hello Zwifters!

Game version 1.59 begins phased rollout today to Windows / macOS / Android.
Phased rollout to iOS / tvOS begins tomorrow. Here’s what’s in it:

  • When signing up for an event in Zwift, the event’s route name is now displayed in the sidebar.
  • When riding in small RoboPacer groups, the area in which Drops multipliers are in effect has been increased.
  • When riding in a RoboPacer group, you now have a longer period of time to re-join the group before losing your Drops multiplier.
  • Improved body shape illustrations when selecting a body type in the Garage.
  • Fixed an issue where the color selector would not appear when customizing your avatar’s hair, body, and facial hair.
  • Fixed an issue where some running shirts did not appear properly on smaller body types.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause seals to float in midair on the Beach Island Loop route in Watopia.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Tacx Neo Road Feel setting to appear for devices that don’t support this feature.
  • Fixed an issue that could potentially cause a “Did Not Finish” result to incorrectly be displayed in the Zwift activity feed after completing a race event.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the distant mountains in Innsbruck to appear to wiggle on the horizon.

UPDATE February 20

  • Player Highlight is rolling out on Mac, PC, iOS and Apple TV! A halo will appear around your avatar when in a large crowd so you don’t get lost in the pack. This effect can also be seen on ride leaders, those being fan viewed, and friends (up to 3 at a time) you may come across in the world. Zwifters using Android devices will see this feature in an upcoming release. More details in this thread.

No mention of the player highlight feature being added? The ZwiftInsider post says that is included in this update.

Will Zwift be fixing what they broke in 1.58 causing connectivity issues with the Apple companion app and Apple Watch?

Nice! Looking forward to checking this out.

Sounds like this change may encourage people to stretch the group out more. I wonder how the experience will change if that happens.

Player Highlight is releasing in a phased rollout this week and next that we enable on the server side. It’s happening in parallel with the 1.59 game client release.

Looks like there is a glitch in Yorkshire where some buildings are in the middle of the road and you ride through them. This happened in the Dirt racing series race on Royal Pump Room 8 and I have confirmed this has happened with other riders.

2 posts were merged into an existing topic: Buildings across the road in Yorkshire [1.58]

That bug was introduced in 1.58

How do we access the new badge routes??

When are Zwift going to add something new to the drop shop?

I assume you mean the four new routes which will be used during the Zwift Games, starting March. (New route badges not new roads). Sometimes new routes are used by Clubs in advance of the event for which they were introduced.

Everyone please update your game at your earliest convenience.

Updated to 1.59 today and am now experiencing significant Bluetooth connectivity issues for all connected devices (Kickr Shift, Tickr HR Strap). Running on macOS Monterey on a Mac Mini. No such issues before today.

Also seeing a rather prominent pixel band as of recent, but that was likely already added with the previous release. Not that I wouldn’t be very happy to get rid of it again.
