I have the same issue with my Win 11 Pro laptop where the Sterzo isn’t found by Zwift, and I stumbled upon a work-around. If I go into Win 11 Settings, and then into Bluetooth & Devices, and toggle Bluetooth off for a couple of seconds and then on again, Zwift fonds the Sterzo and will connect to the Sterzo. Unfortunately, I have to do this every time I open Zwift.
I’ve had positive results with Sterzo this week, working with all my rides without any additional fuss. It must be some kind of blessing for the bomb cyclone/atmospheric river to enforce indoor exclusive rides.
This seems like a different problem. (Not that you’re not welcome to post in this thread )
The issue people seem to be having here is that Zwift finds and connects to the Sterzo, but steering doesn’t function. You seem to be saying that Zwift won’t even find it in the pairing screen to begin with, yes?
Checking in to say steering is still working for me start-to-finish now. Knock on wood and all that.
I just figured out why its working. They have it so us users with a problem are connecting through phone when using Win11. I noticed when I went to ride today that on the pair screen at the top left it says, “pair through bluetooth” This explains why my HRM quits working.
Interesting. Mine is still all pairing through Win11.
Mine is also, but they switched the type of pairing. If you look at the top left of pairing screen it used to say, “pair with phone”, now it says, "pair with bluetooth. So when we start Zwift it defaults to phone pairing instead of the original bluetooth.
Not mine. Mine still fires up default as pairing with Win11 BT, so the button says “Pair with Phone”. And things have been pairing with Win11 BT the last few weeks. Trainer, Sterzo, and HR.
Ugh, then mine is not fixed, back to square one.
Yea, not mine. It’s pairing when I’m not using a phone at all.
Can anyone with the update confirm this has been fixed? Like usual I haven’t gotten the new update yet.
There only seems to be about 6 of you worldwide with this problem (judging by this thread)
I updated earlier today and steering finally worked through BT pairing,. but at the beginning it took a few minutes before Zwift would connect to the Sterzo.
Hard fail, went to ride this evening and a new error, also in the connection screen the check mark appears/disappears every 1sec, other screen will show wrench for calibration, then disconnect.
Like what did you guys do from Sept update when this all started to occur,… it’s beyond funny now and starting to try my patience.
Batteries new
No Sterzo update
Sterzo is not broken
Everything was working for me yesterday–connected right away and steered from the start. Don’t think I’ll have another shot to test it until Tuesday.
Hello folks, I wanted to check in to see how things are working in 1.79.0 for everyone. Without being able to recreate the issue 100% of the time, it’s hard to be certain the changes in the latest version have helped fix this issue, but we have not been able to cause the issues internally. Please let me know if you experience issues on the latest version.
@Jason_J_SPM , the default pairing setting is native bluetooth. However, if you change it manually, subsequent sessions will default to whichever pairing method was last used on that computer. You can always delete prefs.xml from your Documents/Zwift folder to revert all settings and preferences back to default just to be sure.
For what it’s worth, I’ve taken a look at your most recent logs and I’m seeing your Sterzo battery jump between about 77% and 0% battery (it seems to flicker back and forth). I’m not sure if this is caused by a bad connection (e.g. loose battery or corroded contacts) or maybe a firmware issue, but it definitely stands out as odd. Elite Support might be able to give you some helpful troubleshooting tips here.
Can confirm that steering worked again for me last night, right out of the gate–for me it seems back to normal. Connects on login, stays connected, steering works right from the start. That’s been several weeks now of no problems.
I tried it again with my wife’s Sterzo this morning and it worked,… as per my response to you yesterday. But it won’t connect right away in the pairing menu, it flashes the check mark on and off. But once I get into the pen before the ride, it will connect, the calibration wrench will appear and be fine,… So not sure what its doing but so far it is working.
Currently in game, same Sterzo from this morning says not supported and won’t connect
