Elite Sterzo Smart paired, but not steering in Zwift | Windows 11 [September 2024]

took almost 18min to connect and is now working

Have you done a fresh install of Zwift?

Ya I did before the last update.

It worked for this mornings TTT, but it always comes up with the error in my first picture above. When the check mark stops disappearing/reappearing, and the NO SIGNAL appears, I can uncheck, and recheck the box and it will connect.

I am done complaining for now, it’s getting me nowhere. I will just have to live with it

Did you try to contact Elite support?

I have 2 elite Sterzo for the wife and I, it does it with both.

You thinking its something from the Sept Zwift update and they need to release an update of their own?

No idea, I have no problems with my Sterzo. Did you check the firmware with the Upgrade app?

Ya, everything is good

I had the same issues which I ignored for some time but now I’ve solved it. I use Zwift on Windows 10 PC machine.

The issues started this fall when I got back to the Zwift due to the weather outside. Similar stuff, difficulties connecting and when connected “No signal” message came and it was impossible to reconnect. Tried all stuff from this thread with no effect. Funny thing, the blue light stayed on the Sterzo even after closing Zwift.

But then I tried to pair other Bluetooth devices such as headphones I was able to pair but no sound was transmitted. I’ve disabled built-in Bluetooth chip (Intel Wireless Bluetooth, VID:8087, PID:0AA7) and plugged more modern Bluetooth dongle (AUSS USB BT500) and everything is fine.

So it seems that over the spring and summer something has changed either in Windows or in Zwift (or both) that made that particular bluetooth chipset that I’ve been using the cause of the connection failuers. It has worked for years since I’ve started riding zwift on that hardware (pretty dated, by the way)

I actually stopped using mine over the last few months (also around September-ish). But after reading this, thought I’d pop in a fresh set of batteries and try again. Worked first time.

I did nothing different, so can only assume something in the Zwift app has changed. It always worked fine, connected and had good signal strength (Win 11), but stopped working after one of the Zwift updates, even though it showed as connected.

Cool that it works, but annoying that it was out of action for so long!
