Disable Streak Screen

From what I understand, the SKIP button just skips the long animation of the elements in the Streak Screen.

You heard it somewhere else first…

I demand an option to have it appear every time! :joy:

Please give a way to disable this completely (not just skip more quickly).
Most of the gamification aspects within the riding portion can be simply ignored.
Putting a mandatory interaction before exiting the app is rude and annoying.

Obviously, Zwift corporate thinks these goals, levels, ‘drips’, imaginary bike gear, etc. keep people coming back. But, at least in my case, this is a negative aspect which pushes me away from Zwift.

Despite countless requests for eliminating the streak screen (even just the option) they’re just pushing it around like a kid trying to make it look like they ate the dinner they didn’t like. ZHQ obviously has zero consideration for UI/UX or it wouldn’t be the current mess that it is, with none of the features that Sauce offers (which should all be built in to Zwift) and all of the annoyances that have been around forever and are continuing to be added.

How long has it been and they can’t figure out how to display power output in the same place for workouts and every other ride type.

IMHO, this topic is once again proof that no matter what you do, people will always find something (inane) to complain about…

e.g. complaining about other people’s dissatisfaction

Surprised you had time to respond with all those pesky annoyances you have to deal with in the Zwift UI/UX…if only there was a disable button :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I came here looking for a way to disable this, please provide an option to restore the old behavior. Not everyone wants an unsolicited ‘motivating’ message.

If you believe it will work, you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t, you will see obstacles.

That’s fine. Now imagine that every time you exit Zwift you have to wait for “If you believe it will work, you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t, you will see obstacles.” to appear and then dismiss it. Might get old…

Maybe a rotating list of Jack Handy quotes would work better.

(I also don’t see the value in the streak screen and wouldn’t be bothered if it went away entirely.)

Seems to me that gamification is becoming the primary concern with the latest offerings. The Big Spin, the wheels, bikes etc that are too slow to race with but instead are for? We all have been laughing about that Atomic bike. Just where does one use this, and for what?

Instead of creating a simple system of turning off the gamification for the dedicated cyclists that do not need such goofy encouragement, it is instead pushing it at us more and removing credibility for the serious athlete. It’s as easy as simple UI choices toggles!

Is this really the right strategy against the winds of racing change moving on to IndieVelo and MyWhoosh?

while i don’t like having to wait a few seconds either, this is not the racing forum - the wider platform always was openly about gamification from day 1, some 9-10 years ago now, and 5 years before i started using it. though my personal reason for liking zwift is the fact that there are a lot of people on it

Therefore, a social adventure for you and many, and I get that.

There are plenty of racers on Zwift. I see them every week in leagues, races, Discord etc.

i race about as much as anyone ever has on zwift. i’d really like to be able to say it wasn’t, and i do what i can to help new people get into it and find ways to enjoy it, but it’s a small niche. the streak screen, however, is universally irritating, though that’s just my opinion

Zwift games races where equipment is neutralized

Why is this such a problem?
I was led to believe that the recent update would limit this to once a week, but so far that’s not the case.

Just have the option to opt-out, like we do for “workout pain effect”, 3D game volume etc.

Just give us the option to get rid of it please.
This is not a big ask.

An “advanced settings” tab should be pretty minor to implement and would go a long way. Could give plenty of granularity on top of the option to just turn off the streak screen, i.e. “every time, once a week, never” though the streak screen probably has to exist to give the bonus XP the way they’ve written it. I’ve done a ride then gone straight to an event without save/exit and didn’t get the bonus XP until after the event ride was save/exited.

Other example settings could be for rider highlight, e.g. my settings would be “disable for self (I’m in the middle of the screen I don’t need an outline), highlight friends, highlight pace partner.”

Another would be “disable ambient/basic shadow,” that sort of thing.
