Click not changing gears

Hi, just received my new click and have updated the software and have it connected to my laptop but it will not change gears up or down. Everything is connected via Bluetooth and i have tried switching everything off and then on again but no luck. Any suggestions?

what trainer?

if its Wahoo, try this wheel size hack

When you say updated the software, do you mean firmware updates on both the Click and the trainer? Does the gear display appear on the screen in game?

Sorry, yes i mean firmware and not software. No gear display in game.

Hi @Mickey_E,

Thanks for reaching out on the Zwift forums! This is Jose from Zwift Support.

I’ve checked your server logs, and it looks like you are using a KICKR v6 and it is running on an outdated firmware version (5.0.4), which doesn’t support Virtual Shifting. The latest firmware for your KICKR v6 is 5.4.29.

Please update your firmware using the instructions on Wahoo’s support site: How to Update Firmware on KICKR trainers, BIKEs, and RUN. You can also find the latest KICKR v6 release notes here: KICKR v6 (2022) Firmware Release Notes.

I see you’ve also opened a support ticket. If the issue persists after updating the firmware, please let me know so I can investigate further for you.

Thanks.

There is a setting to switch it on in Zwift. And as asked by others, it depends on which smart trainer you have.

Hi Jose, my zc app tells me i have the latest firmware?

No, you need to update the Kickr using the wahoo app.

The instructions are in the comment left by Jose. Please look at that.

Thanks Jose and Paul. It’s been a long day. Steps followed and problem solved.

Thanks for the support.

No worries, I just want you to have fun on your hamster wheel. I hope you like it.

I just purchased and installed the click with my Neo 2T. I upgraded all firmware and updated Zwift. I can pair the click with Zwift, but don’t have the gear selection display on my screen. I can click through the tutorial, but there is no shifting in game. There doesn’t look to be a a setting to turn on virtual shifting. There is a settings page for the click, but there is nothing to activate.

You can find discussion of this issue in this topic:

Short answer is that it probably depends on the Bluetooth capabilities of the device you are running the game on so you need to share details about that. Also if you have an ANT+ adapter in your system, remove it so you can rule that out as a cause.

Hey @Doug_JG,

Thanks for your post. This is Jose from Zwift Support.

I took a look at your account and noticed your trainer’s currently paired via ANT+ (power only), which means Zwift isn’t able to send shift commands over Bluetooth:

Unlike ANT+, the BLE channel handles both power/ERG and resistance-control data. So, to get everything working properly, head to the Paired Devices screen, unpair the NEO 2T under ANT+, then re-pair it via Bluetooth under Resistance. Make sure the Zwift Click stays paired under Controls, and you should be good to go.

If you have any other questions or need help, feel free to reply here or contact us directly.

Thanks!

That did the trick. Thank you. Of course my Garmin Rally pedals broke after I got on my bike to test things. But Garmin support is great and replacements are being sent under warranty despite the fact that my two-year warranty expired in May. They arrive tomorrow.

My Elito Suito t pairs along with the Click but the arrows only steer so it doesn’t change gear
