Zwift Click Not 'Shifting"

I recently bought a Cog v2 with a clicker and it worked fine for a month or two. However, as of this week it attaches successfully but won’t ever shift out of the default gear (8). I’ve tried the following:

  1. Zwift software is up to date on Companion app and my AppleTV
  2. I’ve tried restarting the app and the AppleTV
  3. I see it successfully detects and attaches at the app and LED on clicker is sold blue

However, trying to shift has no result.

This might seem like a silly question, but have you tried restarting (powering off for a bit and then back on) the trainer? Some people do leave their trainers plugged in all the time.

Hi @Todd_Preece! Welcome to the forums! I’m Francisco from Zwift Support.

Sorry to read about this issue. Let’s share some ideas.

You’ve already done a great job with the basics, like ensuring everything is updated and restarting the system. I’ve confirmed that your Zwift Click has firmware version 1.1.0—nice work! However, since the clicker is still detected and the LED remains solid blue, let’s try a few more steps:

  • Follow This Guide: Check out this article: Controls Not Working on Zwift Click.
  • In your game settings, make sure virtual shifting is turned on. If this isn’t activated, the clicker won’t be able to shift gears in-game.
  • Battery Check: If you haven’t already, I’d recommend trying a quick battery swap. Sometimes a fresh battery can make all the difference.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, I’d be more than happy to follow up on your case. Just keep me posted.
