Zwift cog and click

Hi there. I have recently bought a Zwift cog and click but can’t seem to find the option to turn on virtual shifting. I have checked and my home trainer should support it I have even updated the firmware on the trainer and it still doesn’t work. any ideas as to why this happens?

Which trainer is it, how are you pairing it, and what device are you pairing it to?

it is as wahoo kickr 6 and I am pairing It with bluetooth to my macbook

With the Click V2, there will be no setting for virtual shifting, but if it’s enabled you should see the gear display on the HUD and you should see Shift Style and Gear Range settings appear. Assuming you have a V6 (check that firmware version is 5.4.29) and you don’t have an ANT+ adapter present, nothing else should be required to turn it on. Occasionally people report that re-installing Zwift helps because if virtual shifting was disabled in settings previously, there is no longer a setting to turn it back on and re-installing or resetting preferences will fix that. If you opt to re-install you should follow this process: Re-Installing Zwift

I can see on my wahoo app that the firmware version is 4.5.74 but It won’t let me update it any further
it still just says in game that my trainer doesn’t support virtual shifting

You have a Wahoo Kickr V5 which does not support virtual shifting because Wahoo didn’t provide a firmware update to enable it.

just wasted a load of money then

The return policy is 30 days so within that time you should have no problems returning it. If it’s beyond 30 days then contact Zwift support and ask if they will allow it.

If you got the Click V2 shifter, it also has a variety of other uses besides virtual shifting, such as steering and menu navigation.

yeah but the problem is my cassette is also wrong as I bought my trainer from a friend so I needed virtual shifting. so that sucks a lot

Which cassette is on your bike?

The V5 is a very nice trainer so if there’s a solution then I think you should be happy with it using mechanical shifting.

the only solution would be to buy a new cassette that matches the one on my bike which would be a great deal more expensive from what I gathered. I ride a sram force

If it’s SRAM Force 12 speed, you would need the Wahoo XD/XDR freehub

If it’s anything less than 12 speed then any Shimano type cassette will work and those are available very cheaply (eg, on Aliexpress).
