Black screenshots at the end of the ride [February 2024] [Android]

Hi,

Just got myself a new mobile, samsung S24 - and i encounter issues with zwift. automatic screenshots @the end of a ride are always showing black images as fare as the data fields are included.

When i switch off the data fields by clicking on the upper right picto, imaga appears but without any data.

It was and still is working file on my previous mobile.
Authorisations for camera and locations are both authorised, in the zwift app & in the companion app.

Don’t seem to find the solution;
Anyone with the same issue and even better solution? :slight_smile:

Welcome to the forums, @Gregory_Rasschaert! Thanks for flagging this. I appreciate the time invested in trying to get this resolved.

While we review it, I suggest using the previous workaround you already found. At the end of the activity, when you see the black screenshots, please click the green graph icon in the corner of the “SAVE YOUR RIDE” screen to save the clean screenshots.

I have the same problem. Ive been advised its a known bug and to look out for an update when it will be fixed

Ive suddenly started getting black photos on strava from my uploads any idea how to fix this?
Nothing has changed in my setup. Im using a Galaxy A55s casting to a chromecast on a tv which ive always used.
Its really annoying :expressionless:

Hi @Michael_Robson! Welcome back to the Forums, this is Norman from Zwift. Sorry to hear about this issue. This sounds a lot like a known issue we’re working on, it affects Android phones.

Does the image look like this? Try and tap the green graph to remove the HUD from the affected image, that should fix it.

Hello all,

There is a known issue on some Android devices, where HUD-enabled screenshots appear black when uploading to Zwift activity feed or Strava. Zwift engineers are working to address this in a future Zwift version.

In order to avoid this in the meantime, please tap the green graph icon on affected photos via the End Ride screen, as described in this thread by @Norman. This will disable the HUD in the screenshots and you’ll be able to upload the “clean” version of your chosen photos.

If you’d like to take or preserve a screenshot with your HUD enabled, the best option currently is to use your device’s OS-level screenshot feature to capture your screen at the intended moment.

greetings, I can’t find an answer on the forum!, please, I’m not saving my activity on Garmin, if it’s connected, also save black photos in the gallery and Strava, see attachment, please help I drive via Android Samsung S24

Thanks Paul for the advice, it didn’t help unfortunately, I pressed the HUD icon in the upper right corner, but it still saved “black photo”, (attachment) when will you fix that bug, in the software???

Welcome to Zwift forums! I concur with @Paul_Southworth that you’re likely experiencing this known issue- it seems to only be occurring on a few Samsung model phones. Tapping the green hud icon in the End Ride screen should turn the icon grey and switch that particular photo to the “clean” version, which should not be blank.

I’m using Samsung galaxy s22 ultra and also have the same problems.

I am riding Zwift on my Android phone with a stream to a tv-set.
I also take pictures on the way because my mates want to see them.
The last 2 months I only have black pictures.

I would be grateful if You could help me with that. Thanks
