Getting this issue too - very annoying. Come on Zwift support, fix it please.
I just finished a structured workout off my Training Peaks Account this morning and this also happened - no upload to Strava or TrainingPeaks which is annoying - what can we do?
I am running a brand new iPad Air with a 20MB line.
Exactly the same thing has just happened to me - iPad Air - new user so this is pretty frustrating - not quite sure how to rename activity on iPad
I just experienced the same issue:
File stuck at inProgressActivity.fit
Did not complete/record in companion
This is part of a 6 week program I started - can you please provide instructions on renaming file and resubmitting into the Companion and Zwift databases?
likewise. i just completed a work out and it shut down on me. It didnât give me a chance to save the file even. I can see it on zwift.com as an activity but i cannot open it to mannually add it to strava.?? never happened to me before?
Did anyone get anywhere with this? This has just happened to me and it is so frustrating.
I am using Zwift via IOS on an iPhone 11, with a wahoo kickr smart trainer.
I have deleted and reinstalled both Zwift and the companion app three times now and even have three different Zwift accounts! (but I always ensure Iâm only logged into the same one when trying to save a ride).
Whenever I complete a ride on the Zwift app it says it saves and will upload to both Zwift and Strava (if Iâve done that step). However when I then log into the Companion app I can see my ride is still in progress. Whenever I refresh the screen, the ride time keeps going up! When I log back into Zwift and click on the email file button, I can see there is a inProgressActivity.fit file which I simply canât do anything with! Zwift have told me to try editing the name of this, but I canât work out how to do it. You canât open it via Companion as itâs still in progress !
All answers Iâve seen seem to point to internet/wifi issues but I have wifi throughout my house and a lot of test rides have only been 1-2 minutes long and there have been no connectivity issues.
Any help / advice would be appreciated as Iâm close to giving up now
You canât really delete or rename the InProgressActivity.fit file that the application is using because youâre on iOS. The copy of the file that the app is using is inside the applicationâs sandbox on your phone. I know itâs a somewhat drastic step, but you might want to consider deleting Zwift from iOS and then re-installing it as that should certainly delete the problem file. Whether or not the problem continues occur, however, is another matter entirely.
Hola, esta mañana he realizado un entrenamiento de 2horas y en el momento y mientras se estaba guardando la app ha dejado de funcionar. Quisiera rescatar ese entrenamiento. Es posible?
Help please. Iâm no I.T. Expert
Oops this activity still in progress. Come back later to check the progress
This has also happened to me today cant seem to sort it, come in zwift sort it out and get a fix.
How is it possible!!! I just bought this subscription and was happy to test my new materials and I jumb into this anoying bugâŠit is a shame that since 2019 nothing has been done: same for me: still in progress and and swift does not stop the activityâŠvery versy annoying!!!
I have just had this issue. Please can someone help to resolve as I have an activity âstuck in progressâ thanks
Hi all i have the same issue now.
I started an activity and passed to a meetup but for some reason the event was not saved (the zwift app on iOS crashed) then checked on companion and i saw just the partial activity but the companion app shows me still in âactivityâ (00km amd time is passing) I tried to reopen zwift, start a new activity, delete companion but it doesnt work for me. Unfortunayely before reaxing this forum I deleted the partial activity because it was not possible to see any details. How can i solve this issue? Can anyone fix tjis issue?
Lauren, today I was so happy that I could train for the first time on Zwift and I really liked it! Only it ended in frustration and problem solving no first sweatdrops earned no statistics no data. Sad and this after I purchased a license! My training is still in progress and I canât do anything about it! I hope you guys can fix it ASAP.
How did you stop it after it got stuck in the âZWIFTING Nowâ mode? I had the same problem but it suddenly got unstuck about 1 hr. after the end of the ride. I am not sure if I caused it (messing around in the Companion App) or if it just timed out.
I donât know if this will help anyone, but I also got stuck in this weird âcurrently Zwiftingâ quagmire.
I use my Apple watch for my HR and stats, as I canât get Zwift to pair up with it. So, thereâs a lot going on here.
Today, the app froze up (man, I wish yâall would fix that, and please donât suggest using an ethernet cable, bc if the internet hiccups, wireless or not, it wonât matter). The app needs to be more robust and recover better), right at the end of my ride. It wouldnât come back, and there was no way out other than to force quit (Mac).
When it came back up, I had one ride, minus a minute or so where it froze. But I couldnât recover it to upload. I thought I could go back to where I left off, but that just started a new ride. So, I ended the ride normally.
Thatâs when I got stuck in this mess.
I unplugged the Wahoo.
Still stuck (mobile app).
Plugged it back in and started a new workout.
Still stuck (mobile app).
Unplugged the Wahoo and checked the Activity app on my iPhone for the workout. It wasnât there! Watch still showed âin gameâ. Iâm not sure HOW, but it was there.
Rebooted the watch.
Watch still stuck âin gameâ, Mobile app still showed âcurrently Zwiftingâ.
Finally, I started a new activity on my watch and let it run for a minute or so, and that cleared ALL OF IT UP.
Again, not sure if this helps anyone, but this worked for me. Also, Iâll be riding outside tomorrow, because itâs gonna take a day or two to come down off of the ceiling from raging. LOL
I thought Iâd post a follow up.
I updated the firmware on my Wahoo Kickr yesterday and despite a little bit of a weird start tonight, the rest of the ride was flawless.
It was suggested to me from a friend that this might resolve my issues. Happy with it so far!
I had this issue and solution is simple - on device where you have your zwift app running (in my case windows 7, I am using companion app on android), look for file inProgressActivity.fit and rename it in any file browser you have (in my case it was located in My Documents\Zwift\Activities
After it was renamed (I chose to name it like other activities just came up with date-time close to my activity time), I uploaded fit file to strava and in my companion app this activity is just one with âunable to find detailsâ. So be it, miles logged on strava and I can start new activity.
This worked for me, well it got it into Strava anyway which is what I wanted. Thanks.
If the activity is stuck because you were disconnected before the zwift application could not finishâŠ
- Go to Documents â Zwift â Activities
- Right-click inProgressActivity and jot down the YYYY-MM-DD Hour:Minutes:Seconds:Milliseconds
- Rigth-click inProgressActivity and rename it to YYYY-MM-DD-Hr-Min-Sec-milliSec
- Launch Zwift and start a new ride
- discard ride after you have entered the world.
