I started racing on Zwift. Only 2 races. I’ve noticed my watts starts off at 2000. This doesn’t happen on regular rides. Only in races.
How do I fix this?

What is your setup? Which trainer do you have?
I’m using a Wahoo KICKR, connected to MacBook Pro through Bluetooth. My Zwift is connected to Zwiftpower. My Strava data ends up looking like this. But the 2000 watts has never given me an achievement or PR. It just gets recorded on the data and the chart.
Is the trainer firmware up to date? There was an update in 2024 that specifically addressed a 2000W spike when transitioning from ERG mode to SIM mode, and there have been other updates that address power spikes, depending on the model. I don’t know if that’s related to your problem but if firmware isn’t current I would probably do that. Whether that applies to you is unclear since “Kickr” is not enough information to know which trainer you have. There are 8 different direct drive trainers with “Kickr” in the name.
Thanks Paul. I will look into this. My last 2 races didn’t have any spikes so I will keep paying attention to this and check everything is all updated.
