Zwift Stopped Connecting to my Heart Rate Strap

Zwift has stopped connecting to my bluetooth heart rate strap. I’ve run it with Zwift for over a year. It is giving a signal because I can connect it to my phone and my computer tablet but Zwift won’t locate it in Pairing. Any suggestions??

Thanks!!!

Is there a tab on the pairing screen for “recommended” and “all” or something like that when you try to.pair the HRM? Try switching this menu and see if it shows up. Or maybe the battery is dead, or you need to disconnect it from the tablet and phone first.

Thanks Mike for the suggestions. The battery is working because I can connect it to my phone or ocmputer tablet. And it doesn’t show up in either option in the pairing screen. Something else is uup.

Did you disconnect it from Bluetooth settings on the devices? That would be required before Zwift can use it.

I assume Zwift still has access to Bluetooth or you would not be able to pair the trainer first.

The first thing you do is change the CR2032 battery in it at the first sign of any trouble. They last about 12 months at best with regular usage.

Not all devices use CR2032 (Polar, Suunto need CR2025)!

Well they really screwed up with that design. The CR2032 is bad enough. Manufacturers should seriously think about the move to a CR2450, its easy enough to get these days, twice the price but it would last five times as long.

I’ve always used a CR2032 battery in my straps that come with a 2025. Only 0.7mm thicker but the extra juice seems to make them last a bit longer.

I have the same issue. My heart rate strap can be found by Zwift but it doesn’t work when using my Samsung Galaxy Tab. When I use Zwift on my phone it works… I am going to try to connect the heart rate strap via the Zwift companion app, hopefully that will work.

Which HRM do you have, and did you update the firmware on it recently? The EU RED regulations were expanded in August and several HRM manufacturers recently released firmware updates to enable Bluetooth encryption. If that’s affecting you, consult the manufacturer to find out if it can operate in open mode with no encryption.

I have the GARMIN HRM DUAL. I am not sure if the firmware was updated. I can’t remember I did to be honest.

Pretty sure that one is too old to have that particular problem.
