Zwift Ride (on iPad) can’t shift up

I have had a Zwift Ride for 4 weeks. This week it stopped letting me shift up the virtual gears mid ride. I updated the firmware using the companion app and during a race I could shift up for the first few minutes but then lost the ability again, so had to cancel out. Any idea what this is?

Since this might be faulty controls, I would contact support immediately so you start that process in case they want to replace them. If you spend a lot of time working on it without contacting support, and you don’t resolve it, you have longer to wait.

Some other possibilities include the trainer firmware - you didn’t mention your trainer but whatever it is may have a manufacturer app to update it, or Bluetooth disconnections - you didn’t mention your game device so I can’t say much about that.

Sorry I missed the iPad detail in the topic name. If you want to check for Bluetooth disconnections, on an iPad you can upload a log file to trainerdx.com and it will show you if that happened. My guess is there is a problem with the controls but you could check logs if you’re interested. Instructions for finding the logs are here: Locating Log Files

Thanks Paul, the fact that the face buttons of the right controller worked but the shifter didn’t suggested the Bluetooth wasn’t the issue. I reported to Zwift and they sent a replacement (thankfully just within the 30 day warranty period) but I do worry if it happens again after 30 days as the Zwift ride needs that button to shift gears!
