Zwift ride controllers disconnects repeatedly with Kickr direct Connect

Hi guys,

My Wahoo Kickr move is connected directly with Kickr direct connect to my PC and Zwift ride controllers by bluetooth.

Zwift ride controllers disconnects like every 15-20 minutes. I need to switch them of, go to the pairing screen swith them on and connect again.

Due to that I can not use Kickr direct connect for racing, which is obviously the main purpose why I purchased Kickr direct connect…

Anyone having the same issue or some solution for this?

Once I connect everything via Bluetooth there seems to be no problem with such a frequent disconnects.

Thx,

Petr

Hi @Petr_Sliva

Shuji at Zwift HQ here.

I scanned your server log history and do see that your trainer and Zwift Ride are indeed paired over native Bluetooth.

I also see that you have a heart rate monitor that’s paired via ANT+. Is that HRM also Bluetooth and ANT capable, or is it an older Garmin strap that’s ANT only? The reason I ask is that the ANT signal may be interfering with the Bluetooth signal because they both occupy the 2.4 GHz frequency.

I took the liberty of dropping your latest log file into Zwiftalizer.com and it is reporting a 19.86% interference on ANT channel 1. If you’d like to try this for yourself, sign up for a free Zwifalizer account and locate your game logs on your PC.

Would you try unplugging the ANT dongle and see if the Ride controller connection is more stable? It would also be a good idea to power cycle the KICKR Move, and your PC for good measure beforehand.

Hello Shuji,

thank you for your analysis. Not a problem to try connect my HRM via Bluetooth. Unplag the ANT dongle and we will see what happens.

I will give it a try during the week and I will let you know the result.

Thank you a lot for your quick support.

Petr

After unpluging the ANT+ dongle from my PC, connecting everything via Bluetooth (zwift play controllers + HRM) and Wahoo Kickr move via Direct connect the connection seems to be stable and there are no disconnects.

Thank you a lot for your support Shuji! Good job!!!
