Ride controllers drop connection every 35 seconds

So i bought the ride bike and a brand new kickr move. I have performed all updates to the trainer, and the ride controllers and zwift itself. Im running a windows 11 laptop with an hdmi cable to a tv screen. Im connecting eveything to zwift over bluetooth 4.2. I have 2 fans in the room

From the first ride i did, the ride controllers kept disconnecting, then seconds later, re-connecting. While trying to trouble shoot the issue, i figured out that the disconnect happens religiously every 35 and 40 seconds. After no success of fixing the issue, I reached out to support. After trouble shooting for sometime with them, zwift sent me a new set of ride handlebars.

Those bars just came in and are doing the exact same thing and dropping connection every 35 to 40 seconds then reconnecting. They will do it in the initial " pairing devices" screen, in the home page, and in game.

I have re-installed my laptop’s bluetooth drivers, i have shut off every other bluetooth in the area except the controllers, ive checked the laptop bluetooth settings and ensured its not shutting off to conserve power. Ive unplugged my ant+ dongle and it doesnt make any difference. Im not running the fans, and im rooms away from my wifi router…pulling what hair i have left out over this one…any help wound be great!

Thanks,
Adam

Did you try to Pair with Zwift Companion app as a Bridge…would be interesting to rule out that the issue is with controllers.

Connecting via Companion would rule out the PC being the problem, which would be a useful step. It would rule out radio interference as a cause if it works fine via ZC.

So i tried the companion app as a bridge with the controllers and it seemed to stabalize the connection, which was great. Although that would work longterm, id prefer to fix the problem with the laptop connection issue instead of just a workaround.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Adam

I found my internal BLE in my windows laptop was unreliable at times and I would get connection dropouts so i got myself a external Bluetooth adaptor 5.4 which solved the problem it only cost me ÂŁ9 money well spent :slightly_smiling_face:

Pick one with a chipset recommended in this review. Put it on a 2m extension cable. Disable the built-in Bluetooth controller either in the BIOS or in device manager. I’m using the TP-Link UB400 which has been solid.
