Zwift play controllers no longer connecte

After the last firmware update, my controllers won’t connect. They will show up when I go to pair my HR and PM, etc, but then won’t connect. Thoughts?

Does this provide any insight:

No…I’m not sure why you sent that. I already went through and did the update, which is what GP is walking people through. All of that was good. When i go to pair it on a regular PC, it just stalls out on “Connecting” on the pairing screen. Its shows the device, but never shows it being actually connected. Oddly, the devices themselves have a solid blue light, so they look connected, yet they aren’t.

Ok, I figured out a solution. I went into my PC’s bluetooth settings and clicked “remove” for both zwift play items. That seemed to allow zwift to actually connect again. Not sure what happened in the update to make it behave that way. This wasn’t an issue before. Luckily I was just poking around and something worked. :+1:

Just trying to help. I had no idea if you’d watched it, or not. :man_shrugging:

No worries. Happy zwifting!

The reason why you need to remove the device from your bluetooth settings is that I think that the new (updated) linked controllers are seen as another device but as you already have the (pre updated) Play Controllers device in your settings it doesn’t add a new device with the same details.

Try this solution as I had the same problem when trying to connect to my android phone and Win PC.

** After updating the Zwift Play Controllers and ensuring that they are now linked in the Companion app, turn off the Play Controllers.*
** On your android phone and/or Win PC, find the bluetooth settings and delete the device for the Zwift Play Controllers.*
** Then turn on the now updated Play Controllers and find the new bluetooth device for the Play Controllers and then all should be good.*

Hope this helps.

Yes, I should have updated this thread, but poking around I came to the same conclusion. Delete the old device and then the “new” one works fine. Seems like this instruction should have come from Zwift. I doubt it was an unknown. All good. Hopefully this helps the next person.
