PC - Windows 10. Never had any bluetooth issues before. Kickr bike is connected via bluetooth as is HR
It’s not just you, several other people are reporting this too, so Zwift are likely looking into it.
Cool. I did do a search but couldn’t find any other posts. Hopefully firmware 1.1 will help when I can get it.
Still not there for me

first use last night, 25 minutes with one of the pace partners and then 60 minutes with the rhino sausage roll ride, no connection issues, no dropouts everything was rock solid on a pc with windows 10
It’s being investigated by Zwift. It’s not believed that 1.1 will cure the issue but keep posting of the issues but please include what operating system you’re running Zwift on along with how you pair other devices.
Same here, instant (reproducible) crash after paring one of the controllers.
- Android 10
- Samsung SM-T830
- Zwift version 1.42.0(113191) rc/1.42.0
- Zwift Play Firmware 1.0.0
Firmware 1.1 just arrived for me - currently doing the update and will give it a go to see if it will still crash
Update complete and had a quick play(!) on Repack Rush - in short it all seemed to work BUT only if I connected the controllers via my phone. Using BT on my PC, they worked fine close to the PC but any distance and they disconnected (despite other BT devices working fine over much bigger distances) - looks like the range isn’t great.
That said, my initial issue that zwift was crashing when losing connection to the controllers was definitely NOT happening so that’s good news. Hopefully that puts us on a path to them working properly. More testing to come.
Updated firmware to 1.1 for the controllers. No disconnects but app froze about 25mins into the overall session
Windows 10 on an oldish cpu i suspect the BT /ant drivers as i’ve had issues recently after the recent spate of updates. Think there was a major change to those recently
If possible, try pairing via the Companion app to test that theory. It won’t use the PC Bluetooth or ANT+ drivers.
Hi, my set are being replaced. The controllers dropped connection over forty times in two rides. Tried Zwift support recommendations but to no avail. I have to say the customer support has been excellent but the product is frustrating. I should be receiving my replacement this Saturday and I’ll report any improvements or otherwise.
I had the crashing issue where after a short while using them Zwift would crash.
I did the 1.1 firmware update this morning and now it’s even worse. Can’t even start a ride. Zwift crashes after pairing them. I think it was when I paired my Fenix 6 for HR but didn’t have time to investigate further as needed to get on with my ride. I will do some more testing.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7.
Android 13.
Latest version of Zwift.
updated to 1.1 last night and did and hour ride with no issues on win 10 machine
Has anybody here got these Play controllers working RELIABLY on Android via Bluetooth ? I have upgraded them to v1.1.0 firmware. I eventually got them both paired at the same time and completed Repack Rush. The left-controller then dropped out, and I used the in-game Bluetooth menu to reconnect it. 30 seconds later the game crashed.
So far as I can see these do not work on Android. Period. Somebody tell me I’m wrong !
There’s several reports of issues. I’ve not yet tested them on Android but leave that with me.
I made a seperate post here:
i have tried on different android devices with no luck
I have a high end PC that has run Zwift without issues but connecting the new Zwift Play and trying to use these causes Zwift to crash to the desktop. I have the latest firmware update.
ANT+ or Bluetooth to connect?
