Zwift minimized during ride

Yester I again had the issue that I was in a ride and out of a sudden the Zwift game was minimized. So I had to get my mouse to enlarge the Zwift window.
I had this a while back also but for some reason this isn’t happening always.

My setup is a:

  • WIndows 11 laptop with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU
  • Zwift game 1.91.0
  • Graphics profile “Ultra” (resolution 1080)
  • TV connected as external screen to display Zwift

I noticed in the Zwift-log some resizing and was wondering if this something I can manage:

Someone familiar with this issue ?

Yes you can turn this off in the settings menu while in game. Turn off “Video Screenshot”

If you were running in full-screen mode and Zwift unexpectedly minimized, that is typically caused by some other app on your machine grabbing focus. Find that thing and kill it.

indeed, I run in full-screen mode.
Any idea how to find ‘that other app’ ?
Also I rebooted my laptop just before starting Zwift to avoid any interference of other apps.

turning that option off isn’t a solution in my opinion but of course can help as a temporary workaround.

I would look at Task Manager when it happens and see what is running. You can also google for “windows full screen game minimizes” for various bits of advice about the problem.

Another thing to try is using the Borderless Gaming app so you can run Zwift in windowed mode but display it full screen

Hi @Cyril_Lousberg

This is Haziel from Zwift Support. As mentioned previously on this thread, this issue is often caused by another application or system process stealing focus, which forces Zwift to minimize. It’s more common on Windows 10/11, especially when running Zwift in full-screen mode.

One option you might consider is switching to Windowed Mode. You can do this by going into Zwift’s settings, and changing the display mode from Full Screen to Windowed or Borderless Windowed. Many users have found that this helps reduce interruptions from other apps.

It’s also worth noting that certain applications, like antivirus software, messaging apps, or system notifications, can cause these issues. Before you launch Zwift, please try closing any unnecessary programs.

To identify which app might be causing the issue, you can use Task Manager to monitor activity. Just press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open it. Keeping it open while Zwift is running can help you spot any applications that show a spike in CPU or memory usage right before Zwift minimizes.
