Zwift is using the wrong devices

My wife: Kickr Smart, a separate MacBook and account.
Me: Inside Ride feedback rollers, a MacAir and separate account.

We both use separate HR and cadence sensors, two screens via Airplay.

When we ride side by side, her Kickr will show on her screen as Kickr, and her sensors pair immediately . Mine used to, but now, what shows on my screen as “Inside Ride” is actually her Kickr. Same with her HR monitor and cadence.

I can’t use Zwift if she is riding next to me. I get no pairing of my Inside Ride rollers, my HR monitor, or cadence sensor, despite my screen showing them paired.

My screen shows my devices, her data. It’s worked before, but rarely.

I could pair mine using Ant+ and hers via BT, but there’s no way anymore to turn off her Ant+ and my BT…

I’m not sure it will avoid this problem in the future but if you want to reset the pairing data for the app on a Mac you can remove or rename the file Documents/Zwift/knowndevices.xml

I haven’t run into that issue with our two systems, but we’re currently using Bluetooth for everything. ANT+ will always pair faster so it will usually win any pairing race vs a Bluetooth device.

Thanks. I’ll give it a shot today. I wonder if Rouvy has the same issues?

I bet this is some kind of Zwift bug if you are correct that it appeared to pair one trainer but actually paired a different one, possibly due to corruption of the knowndevices.xml file. You could also inspect that file on both systems and check out the IDs of the trainers in it, see if they are unique and as expected.

Highly appreciated, and thanks. I’m a little hesitant to rename files, but can always copy the original and re-use it if needed.

I’m going to start from scratch on one laptop, it’s Kickr, HR monitor, cadence, cleared .xml file. Once it pairs, I’ll rename each device/sensor.

Then test. If all goes well, shut it down, do the same with the feedback rollers, HR, cadence.

I may put my Stages crankset on that bike (both bikes are dedicated to indoors, no calipers, etc.). The feedback rollers work better with a separate power meter, and the experience is more like riding outdoors than anything I’ve seen.

Grateful for your assistance .
