Zwift/Garmin connection - Really struggling and need help 🙈

I have been using zwift for a a couple of weeks and up to press I was running it on my iPhone no issue.

It would happily pickup my wahoo KICKR, my Garmin cadence and speed and my Garmin watch hr.

So this is where it’s all gone to s**t.

Last week I bought Apple TV so I could connect a tv.

I followed the guide, made sure my iPhone(companion) and Apple TV was on the same wifi network work.

I launched zwift, selected pair by phone. Picked up the wahoo no problem, selected cadence sensor. It found this no problem and turn blue like the others.

I was spinning on the bike but no rpm was appearing on the screen. I Thaught I would carry on and connect the hr, this worked fine with bpm showing, I did a ride and the dashboard loaded whilst riding on the companion app.

I was getting a cadence reading so I Thaught brilliant I have cracked it. Finished the ride the see no cadence at all had been logged for the ride!!

That’s it in a nutshell. I have tried everything to mind with no luck. Mega annoyed.

Here’s what’s I have tried

Switching Bluetooth on and off.
Deleting devices on iPhone and re syncing.
New battery’s
Apple TV off
iPhone stand alone zwift app.

I have tried everything and I am now loosing the will with zwift :joy::joy:.

I Thaught I would even check the sensors are working and switched my Garmin edge cycling computer, work fine.

Can anybody please shine any light on it before I cancel my subscription :see_no_evil::see_no_evil:

Thankyou in advance

As a start, have you tried force-quitting the Zwift app (not Companion) on your phone? And are you sure your sensors aren’t directly paired to your phone? Additionally, is there a reason you are not using the cadence directly from the Kickr trainer (I don’t have one, but I think it does cadence)? If you use the cadence directly from the trainer, then you could even pair directly to the ATV (power/resistance/cadence on one BT channel, and HRM on the other).

Hi I have tried closing the everything down and retrying.

As far as I know the wahoo kicker just offers power metering and resistance,

The Garmin sensor is on the crank arm

The Kickr offers estimated cadence so the Garmin sensor is not mandatory to get a cadence reading, however some people find the estimate is not as accurate as actually measuring crank arm revolutions. When you click on the cadence tile on the pairing screen, the Kickr should be one of the options.

Apologies

I have the KICKR core snap.

Does the KICKR SNAP Smart Trainer Measure Cadence or Heart Rate? The KICKR SNAP measures and transmits speed and power data only . For cadence we recommend using a speed and cadence sensor such as the RPM or BLUE SC

Hi @Craig_Bennett thanks for the submission! Norman here. Additionally from what our friends have mentioned, have you recently tried pairing the cadence sensor to Garmin’s Tacx Training App and checking if it’s working well over there? That would answer if the issue’s source is the Zwift app or the Cadence Sensor itself.

Also, I understand that your Cadence Sensor looks like it’s working fine during the ride, and then, the issue comes at the end of your ride where there isn’t any cadence recorded. Is that correct?

Hi,

I haven’t tried the Garmin TACX app, I willl give it a go and report back.

So when I was using Apple TV and had the companion on my phone, I had the dashboard up and I was getting a cadence reading. When the ride had finished no cadence had been logged at all.

What I can’t get my head around is I’m not even getting any no signal error on connection lost, it stays connected just reads 0 rpm the whole time.
