Zwift Game v1.90 [May 2025]

Hello Zwifters
Phased rollout of Zwift game version 1.90 has begun on macOS / Windows / Android devices.
Phased rollout to iOS / tvOS devices begins tomorrow.

  • Zwifters can now manually trigger splits (also known as laps or intervals) when cycling, which are displayed in a new sidebar in the in-game HUD and are included in FIT files.

Ways to trigger a split:
** Select the New Split icon in the Action Bar (available both in-game and in the Zwift Companion app)

** Select the on-screen Lap button (available on all platforms except Apple TV)

** Use the tab key on your keyboard
** Customize the Zwift Ride drop bar buttons in Zwift Settings → Hardware → Drop Buttons and select the option New Split (L) & Power Up (R).

** Structured workouts will trigger a ”lap” for each interval block, as they always have. To view these splits after your workout, press this context-sensitive Toggle Side Display button which appears when Splits have been triggered.

  • Improved the appearance of flat routes in the mini-map route profile.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the mini-map elevation profile to be stuck at the start of some routes.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Leaderboard visibility setting to behave as if it were set to “Auto” when the “Always” setting was selected.
  • *Fixed gaps in the roadway on the Douce France route in France.
  • *Fixed an issue that could cause the roadway to flicker in some sections on the R.G.V. route in France.

iOS

  • Stability improvements.

How do the lap splits work during races? Can I trigger a lap during a race? Will it record a lap when I cross the finish banner?

If you want, you will be able to manually trigger Splits in a race after you leave the paddock.
We don’t do anything automatically - no change in behavior there.

How does the split screen cope with the leaderboard screen that is positioned at the same place ?
Or is there finally and option to turn the leaderboard off. Would be nice to have an off setting besides the always and auto that are already there.

The Toggle Side Display button in the Action Bar will toggle between the normal Leaderboard or the Splits UI. They won’t display at the same time.

Still waiting for W/Bal. avg w/kg and draft

Will it be possible to receive automatically split times?
Examples: each 5 km time, each 1 km, each 3 km, 10km etc..

Would have loved a third option to that Side Display Button. Why not have us choose between leaderboard, splits and none ?
They both can be turned off but we cant have them both turned off. That is a missed opportunity

We’re discussing this based on y’alls feedback.

no, this is a manual process only

To clarify, it is still not possible to see avg watts or heart rate during each interval in workout mode?
By the wording it sounds like the Split functionality is not available during a workout, but becomes visible after?
Personally, if this is the case, I think this is shame to not improve the workout mode by having average watts visible for each block. :man_facepalming:

Are you asking about the watt-hours per kg metric we track toward progress of the Factory Tour Challenge?

Hello Zwifters it’s Day 2 of phased rollout.

No, this is not what I am asking about.

I want to know if (or why can’t) the splits feature work during workout mode so we have a way to see avg watts during each interval block (like what the splits function provides).

i.e. If I am in workout mode, and the interval block I am doing is 5 mins at 250w, I want to be able to see my current avg watts during that interval.

… by the sounds of it, splits are triggered/created during the workout, but are only visible after you finish the session?

wouldn’t it just be 250 watts, or darn close to it?

Only if you’re in Erg mode. Erg mode can be shut off during workouts and this feature request would allow seeing how you did especially when doing a very hard one where your vision and coherent thought is compromised…

Agreed. For me, any interval <5min is done with erg mode off and being able to see the avg for the block is key to doing the workout properly.

IMHO is the erg mode the key to doing the workouts properly - with my Tacx Neo I don’t know why I should switch erg off? Makes sense for intervals <15s only.

And that’s your humble opinion, Milan. For some of us, our trainers get locked up later in the workout and we need switch out of Erg mode to complete the session. Or we like the free form of setting the effort ourselves. Erg mode does tend to keep the effort focused but that’s not always the point.
