ZWIFT frame rubbing - kickr v6 cog v2

I have just put my newly purchased ZWIFT frame onto my kickr v6 and after the cog v2 was installed and I wonder if anybody from Zwift has ever tested that combo…

The cog v2 rubs against the frame, the tolerances on the non drive side are terrible and it’s not usable. I knew the cog was made of plastic but it’s such a cheap feeling flimsy thing that I wouldn’t be surprised the issue lies here…happy to show photos of this

You’re missing a piece there… I’ve no idea what’s it called, but it was there with cog v1 as well.

Ah, you have kickr V6… Not sure if there’s no … Spacer supposedly needed then.

Yep. Drive side adapter looks like it’s missing. Here’s pics from a Ride on a Kickr Move (same as V6) and a JB Victory with Cog v2

I think as just shown by Shane.

Thanks for the input, I managed to figure it out now I think.

I had actually installed “longest” drive side adapter, which was already previously on the kickr v6 when I was using it with a Shimano cassette. The key difference was: on all my other bike frames I had installed the adapter rather tight with a wrench. For the Zwift frame it seems I need to turn it outside to give the frame enough clearance and remove the lock nut?!

It seems weird to me that it’s now not tight as before, but I guess with the thru axle tightened it’s all good?

It would be helpful if the manual would state: hey “dont tighten your drive side axle adapter” or say that depending on trainer clearance it might have to be loosened. Perhaps thats common knowledge but on none of my previous bikes did I ever have to adjust this adapter, just swap the right piece depending on SRAM or Shimano hub.

It’s still PRETTY tight but no more rubbing at least.

not so Fun fact: none of the QR codes in the manuals worked for me. All lead to the main zwift home page so that didn’t help either during the process…but at least we got a printed manual on how to fit pedals.

Okay Shane is (once again) the hero. No jokes, you’re the man. Love your content and passion for the sport and what you do for the cycling community!

The Zwift videos dont ever show the drive side adapter (wahoo calls it the adapter C or drive side spin cap) being used. See the screenshots of the video:

as the frame was already rather tight on the kickr without the spin cap I thought okay I guess it goes on without it…welll…turns out you still need the spin cap. I just popped it back on and now it works flawless even when the lock nut is screwed in 100%.

Stupid mistake but would be nice to show the video with the actual much needed drive side spin cap instead of just the lock nut which was very confusing to me and caused this issue.
