Phased rollout of Zwift Companion begins this week to iOS and Android devices.
New Zwifter badges have arrived in Zwift Companion and within the riders nearby list. Find out who you might be rubbing virtual elbows with on your next Zwift session by using some of these new identifiers: a notable public figure, a pro, or a friendly Watopian.
A few questions about the badges.
Is there any difference between the new pro cyclist, runner, and tri badges?
What does Zwift Verified mean?
What does Watopian mean?
And why was there any need to change when there are so many other things that could be being worked on? Personally, I liked the old versions because (a) they were more colorful and (b) there was a clear delineation between the different types of pro athletes.
Can’t really defend the priorities here, but I guess now the identifiers for cyclist/runner/tri will be easier to differentiate from the KOM/Sprint jerseys?
It’s definitely easier to read the “PRO” text, but not sure that pro translates into all languages Zwift supports, so for some languages that PRO text being more visible isn’t gonna really matter that much.
My QoL companion app feature request would be a time range filter that I can set to only show events within the range I actually start rides in… So I don’t have to scroll every event from midnight to 10am anytime I want to check an event in the future in the app. Maybe someday.
I do like that they show who are the pros etc, though I don’t really care that much what the icon looks like.
@shooj Yay, thank you and the team! The keyboard issue made my lead today almost impossible, very grateful and will report in tomorrow if anything still isn’t working.
Those eligible for a Zwift Verified badge, who didn’t have one before, will they get it now with this update or later? Just asking as I haven’t received mine through this update and I’ve done the minimum of three elite Zwift races.
“For the 2023/24 season, Zwift is finalizing the list of qualifying riders, and all in-game badges will be awarded by August 1st, 2024. For subsequent elite community racing seasons, riders will retain this designation for one year. An evaluation process will occur annually in April to update the list.”
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. Are you looking in the Routes tab of the Companion app, or from inside one of your Clubs? Not all routes are selectable for Club events.
If you’re looking in the Routes tab - would you screenshot the missing route you’re expecting to see?
@Tom_Lindland
That discrepancy is expected. Downtown Eruption is one of the routes being used in Zwift Games, which are restricted for Club events and Meetups for a short while longer.
The Club restriction will be lifted next week after phased rollout of game version 1.85 reaches everyone.
UPDATE March 6: The routes being used in Zwift Games will remain event-only until after Zwift Games has ended. This means after Zwift game version 1.87 has completed phased rollout. Apologies for my mistake, and thanks for your patience.
