Thank you for reaching your inquiry about the connectivity issues with the Zwift Companion following the recent update. This is Haziel from Zwift Support, and I wanted to share some steps that might help.
One common reason for these connectivity problems might be that the device you’re using for Zwift and the one running the ZC app need to be on the same network, including both being connected to the same 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band.
To help you in resolving this, I recommend taking a look at this article:Issues with Zwift Companion App. It outlines some key reasons for connectivity issues and offers solutions that might help.
If you follow the steps in the article and are still experiencing problems, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We want to ensure you can enjoy your time on Zwift!
This update still doesn’t let me opt out of weekly goals. I don’t (and will not) use Zwift to plan my workouts. Goals and Status do not make any sense since I don’t center my life around Zwift.
You’re correct - it does not. Are you bothered by Companion app notifications? You can disable those in your mobile OS settings.
Would you like to opt out of email notifications? You can do that from your account profile webpage, here.
My point is that the weekly goals are completely worthless and annoying because I don’t use Zwift to plan anything. Zwift is for riding my bike indoors and NOTHING ELSE. It is not my coach. It does not, and will not, see all of my data.
I am annoyed by having goals and status shoved in my face every single time I open the Companion app. Let me opt out of it or I’ll find a different platform - one that doesn’t try to make itself the center of my life.
And, yes, I know how to disable notifications. I am not a moron. Thanks for the condescending suggestion.
Please give people a chance to get a correct understanding about what is bothering you. I agree that the Fitness Tracker feature should be optional in the Companion app but it’s not condescending to inquire about the nature of the problem you’re having.
I dont use Zwift to plan my life either, just ignore it when you open the app. It’s very simple. If that is ruining your day, maybe go for a walk outside my friend.
I cancelled my subscription and deleted this app. 10 years on Zwift and I’m done! I am not tolerating yet another all purpose fitness tracker. This company has completely lost its direction.
I don’t think I’m having connectivity problems.
My Android phone still has v 3.69.1.
Usually, the app will update automatically but it hasn’t.
When I go to the Play store, version 3.70 isn’t there.
Should it be there by now?
I don’t have 3.70 on Android yet either. I assume this is a pretty slow rollout by Zwift where it might take a few weeks to fully roll out as opposed to a few days?
I’m struggling to understand the relationship between the workout power profiles and the workout titles. Effort level for some (e.g. The Wringer) also looks well off.
