Zwift Companion activity not syncing to Apple Health

Same setup here. As I said in another thread, I’d like to be upset with Strava (and I am), but Zwift should work from the beginning regardless of what hr strap is used.

Oh I have this too and wondering what I’d done wrong. All my data for Oura is wrong now too as that only pulls from Apple Health. So why has it stopped?

I reverted to using Apple Watch as HRM for todays sessions and all data synced immediately to Apple Health.
Zwift really need to address this issue with syncing data to Apple Health when using a different HRM now that Strava stopped syncing the data.

Same happening for me. Anyone find a work around?

The syncs have been dodgy over over the last couple of weeks, taking longer and longer to register on apple health. The the last companion app update seemed to stop it altogether

Argh, this is so annoying. I also have the same setup, and specifically bought a Wahoo HRM to replace the Apple Watch as an HRM for Zwift because it was so flaky. It’s connected, it’s not connected, it’s pairing, it’s connected etc. I’d spend 10 minutes mucking about trying to make it work or occasionally it would work first time.

Yep. Also affected, I use Apple TV, Garmin HRM and relied on Strava to sync my move and workout data to Apple health. I only bought the garmin hrm because companion on the watch was so flaky as others have said!

Hope Rob’s solution works for me and I’ll go back to Apple Watch. Will try later

Affected here too. Totally irritated by it!

Zwift workouts, sync to strava which would normally then update my Apple Watch rings.

Tried activating MyFitnessPal, Garmin connect, adding the Zwift app to my phone (rather than using my iPad) allowing the companion app to write to HealthKit - nothing.

Yep. Same problem as everyone else. So a load of bull. Everything was fine and some genius decided to implode it. Wtf

Thought it was just me however lots of us out there have the same problem. I don’t like using iwatch as HRM because everything Apple made has short battery life especially iwatch. However this time wasn’t Apple created the problem, it’s Strava…Zwift should be able to export data to health app etc even 3rd party HRM was used…Apple Strava Zwift Wahoo what a mess

Same as everyone else. Very annoying!

A morning walk (started on Strava on apple watch) is in Strava and imported into Health. But Zwift session is in Zwift and Strava but not imported to Apple Health. As someone has already pointed out only activities started with Strava now appear in Health.

What a mess!

Yes just had strava confirm they are no longer synching third party data to apple health and said we have to take it up with Zwift.

Very annoying as others have said, Apple Watch for HRM is unreliable and certainly not good enough if racing etc.

No solution sadly other than using the Apple Watch during a workout :disappointed:

Some people just love to watch the world burn.

I contacted Strava support and got the same answer.

Yanking a feature that I’ve used across Wahoo, Zwift, and Concept2 with no mention in the release notes is beyond disappointing.

I’m never going to use the iOS or Apple Watch Strava app as my main workout tracker.

If you want to be a data aggregator, own the whole pipeline.

How did you revert back to Apple Watch as the HRM? Thanks

Hi Mel,

I have Zwift Companion App on Apple Watch.
Watch Bluetooth on.
On the Zwift pairing screen the watch should be picked up as a HRM, it might take a few goes to get it to pair.
My watch now automatically opens ZC when I open Zwift.
I get quite a few drop outs during my sessions but until Zwift sort direct syncing of data to Apple Health when using other HRM’s I don’t think there’s an option other than Apple Watch if you’re wanting to get all your workout data into Apple Health.

This is very annoying and feel I need to chip in with this.

For me I can get garmin to sync to health and Strava
I can get workouts from apple onto strava and visa versa.
From Garmin its not syncing through strava to health
From Zwift it syncs to strava but then not health.

Question now is, what is the point of the strava monthly fee?

Rob, I am going to try your Zwift companion app on the apple watch and see if this works.

I have just commuted to work so on the way home will set apple watch and garmin going and see if it will sync somewhere in the middle and merge.

What a mess!

Take a look at the end of this thread :arrow_heading_down:

A few tips on using alternative apps to get data synced to Apple Health.
I’m going to try HealthFit.
Strava subscription has been cancelled

I’m using the latest version of Zwift and Zwift companion (Zwift on AppleTV, Companion on iPhone + AppleWatch).

My rides used to get added as workouts on the Apple Health/Activity, but they no longer do so. Any ideas? This seems to have started with the Zwift update last week.

I am facing rhe same problem. Hope Zwift can resolve that problem soon
