I’m having an ongoing issue with my Zwift Click. There are two things going on:
When downshifting, it will randomly get stuck and gear all the way down to 1. The button does not feel like it is physically stuck though, as I can click it like normal.
It will randomly just stop working, often after the above mentioned bug, and I will be stuck in that gear.
Setup:
Zwift Hub with One Hub cog
AppleTV 4K (first gen)
Zwift Companion on Android for pairing
Zwift Click
Everything is fully up to date
When this occurred today, I was not on the companion app itself, but on Pandora for music. When I switched back to the companion app the click started working again. However, it should be noted that nothing else stopped working; power, cadence, and Heart Rate all continued to work without interruption, so it was not a dropped connection. In fact I was able to continue my ride once it started responding again.
This mode of operating is not new; I’ve been doing this since I got the One Hub and Click (sometime during the winter) and have not experienced issues until about 2 weeks ago.
Hi @John_Woodard, welcome to the Forums! I’m Oscar, and I’m working with the Zwift Support team.
We appreciate the detailed information you have shared, we value it and I understand how important is for you to be able to use the Zwift Click without issues, no worries, I’ll be providing information to help you out.
I’d like to let you know that I checked your account and I was able to see some BLE disconnections happening lately which we can troubleshoot.
Confirm if you’re connected to Zwift with BLE or ANT+.
Confirm you have the correct option selected for using Built-in Bluetooth, or Zwift Companion from the icon in the PAIRED DEVICES screen.
Turn off BLE on your device and then turn it back on again.
Restart Zwift and try pairing again.
If BLE isn’t working, and an ANT+ dongle is installed, try removing the ANT+ dongle to simplify the configuration.
Once you’ve done this, check this article for more tips, and if persists, let us know here or contact us directly.
I did not lose my connection at any point in time. All other devices continued to operate as you would expect.
This occurred 40 minutes into the ride, and as I stated Power, Cadence, and heart rate remained active, and once I brought the Zwift Companion app back to the forefront the click resumed working. I was able to complete my ride without any of the above steps.
I had a similar problem. The metal tab in the battery case seems to have relaxed after a while, making insufficient contact with the battery. The battery replacement video says not to overtighten the case when reinstalling the battery. However, after 8 months my Zwift click was working intermittently until I cranked down on the four screws as far as they would go so that I couldn’t see the white rubber gasket any more… That seems to have solved the problem for now but I have requested a new click just in case it was a fluke. The next time I replace the battery I’m going to try bending the contacts up a little so they maintain better contact with the battery. This could be a minor design flaw with the click if a lot of people start having this problem.
Hi @David_Beizer, welcome to the forums!
I’m Fernanda, from Zwift.
I can see that you opened a ticket with our team and the new Zwift Clisk is on the way. It’s awesome that you found a workaround for your old click, and having the new one as a backup will be super handy. We’ll definitely keep an eye on your feedback in case any other Zwifters report a similar issue.
I’ve the same problem with my Zwift Click. Also only during downshifts. It’s now almost 10 month old and slowly getting worse. Today it shifted 3 times to lower gears in an one hour race very frustrating if you lost a group uphill then …
