So, since the last Zwift update, plus an Android update on my Pixel 8 Pro, I can no longer connect the Companion app to my live activity. If I am riding, it shows me in the ‘Activities’ section on the app but not in game. My phone icon does not show on the ride screen next to my name, when riding. And the notifications in the app for ‘Ride Ons’, lags by days. I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions but to no effect.
Try rebooting your network router. It’s some sort of problem on your local network, stopping your Companion device from seeing your Zwift game device.

Nope, sadly no difference. I have reloaded the app, logged out and back in on my laptop, added all updates. Nada. But tx for the suggestion.
Is it a work laptop? Something is blocking the two devices from seeing each other properly.
What kind of laptop? Mac or PC? OS version?
No, home laptop. Issue started following recent Zwift and Android updates.
Asus running Windows 10 Home. I had an issue with Macafee randomly blocking two years ago so switched to Norton.
